HILARIOUS Starbucks hoax. "Starbucks denies coffee to Marines"
Got this in my email.

Starbucks Denies Coffee to Marines !!

Recently Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to let them
know how much they liked their coffee and to request that they send some of it
to the troops there.

Starbucks replied, telling the Marines thank you for their support of their business, but that Starbucks does not support the war, nor anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops their brand of coffee.

So as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should not support them by buying any of their products!

As a war vet writing to fellow patriots, I feel we should get this out in the open. I know this war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't mean we don't support the boys on the ground fighting street-to-street and house-to-house for what they and I believe is right.

If you feel the same as I do then pass this along, or you can discard it and no one will never know.

Thanks very much for your support. I know you'll all be there again when I deploy once more.

PLEASE DONT DELETE THIS ... ALLOW IT TO BE PASSED TO ALL

IN MEMORY OF ALL THE TROOPS WHO HAVE DIED SO THAT WE MAY HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE TO SUPPORT THEM OR NOT!!!

3. This sounds like the Proctor & Gamble hoax...
The originators of which lost EVERYTHING in a suit by P&G.

Starbucks ought to sue anybody who passes on this hoax.

6. Oh yes...
And I *hate* Starbucks' BURNT coffee. Yikes. You could use the worst beans on the planet and they would all taste the same as Kona AA when roasted like that.

Nothing worse than over-roasted beans.

9. Too late
The cat's out of the bag, the story will be spread around and around, a few of the dolts who would be get all worked up about it will ever find out the truth.

Look how long it took for the "McDonald's coffee lady" lawsuit story to get straightened out: she basically only got enough money to pay her medical bills and her lawyers, and the coffee was boiling hot.

...and Ben's details on the P&G hoax under post #3. We may not be able to stop this crap from going around, but as long as it comes around to us, we can turn it to our advantage.

11. People who'd believe/circulate this never drink Starbucks anyway.
It's too upscale a product for the likes of these morans. Now if whatever hate-filled idiot who started the Starbuck rumor would start a rumor about Walmart's . . . .troops wrote and asked Walmart's to open a mega store in Sadir Ciry/Baghdad and to offer discounted body armour. Walmart's refused, claiming they couldn't find enough local employees to staff the store and even the U.S. citizens would not take those jobs for minimum wage. Let's all show Walmart what we think of their unpatriotic selfishness and cowardice.. . . .

12. CORPORATE AMERICA DOESN'T SUPPORT THE TROOPS!
Edited on Fri Feb-03-06 11:34 PM by impeachdubya
Neither does giant agribusiness!

You better do all your shopping at small, locally owned businesses... and buy organic, locally grown produce whenever possible. You know those liberal, latte-sippin' CEO's sit in their boardrooms burning American flags, only to open the window occasionally to try to spit on soldiers walking down the sidewalk below!

PASS IT ON! I'M SERIES! THIS IS HUGH!

13. Send this retraction from Snopes in a "Reply to All" email:
Dear Readers,

Almost 5 months ago I sent an email to you my faithful friends. I did a wrong thou that needs to be cleared up. I heard from word of mouth about how Starbucks said they didn't support the war and all. I was having enough of that kind of talk and didn't do my research properly like I should have. This is not true. Starbucks supports the men and women in uniform. They have personally contacted me and I have been sent many of their Company's policy on this issue. So I apologize for this quick wrong letter I sent out to you. Now I ask that you all pass this email around to everyone you passed the last one to. Thank you very much for understanding about this.

18. Sign up a soldier for free coffee from Dunk'n donuts
Visit the www.anysoldier.com website, find a soldier, and click on what to send. Toward the bottom of the page is a link to a form you can fill out. They hold a drawing once a month, and send free coffee including shipping to 50 soldiers. You can also go directly to the dunk'n donuts website, if you know someone who is serving.

19. Cool - thanks for that link...
Not sure what dunkin donuts or coffee has to do with sending support to the soldiers though. I think they will appreciate what they get from me. I copied directly from the site:

"Welcome to what was THE most copied and referenced list on the Internet of what to send the Soldiers.
Problem is, it isn't good anymore, hasn't been for awhile. That is why it is very different now. The war has progressed, the units are in very different circumstances and their needs vary greatly.
A generic "What to Send" list simply is not valid or even useful.

So, what to do? Simple.
Read the posts of the Soldiers on the "Where To Send" page. Jot down a few names and what they want. Return here and find the items from our advertisers. All the folks advertising on this page are offering discounts of some sort or some other benefit of using the below links to AnySoldier.com supporters. All the advertisers help support Any Soldier Inc.
This is about SUPPORT, not just STUFF!
A LETTER, from you, your children, the kids at church or school, is THE BEST THING to send.
A show of personal support is far better than spending a bunch of money that you don't have.
But, if you want to help by sending something, we suggest using these folks:"

The Dunkin Donuts info is a year old.

what gets me is that the idiots who believe this crap are more pissed at the idea of Starbucks not sending coffee than the govt not sending them proper armor.
