A necessary observation on Chris Matthews :
Thanks Arianna, for pointing out this ass-kissing by Chris Matthews. And he calls himself a journalist?

<snip>
For further evidence of why all TV journalists covering politics should be forced to live as far away from the Beltway as possible, have a look at Chris Matthews' chummy, clubby, buddy-buddy on-air chat with former Commerce Secretary Don Evans.

<snip>
But the real kicker came at the end of the interview when Matthews began tossing verbal bouquets at Evan's feet.

"It's great having you on, Mr. Secretary," chirped Matthews. "You're one of the good guys. We all like you here. You're great. We wish you were back in Washington because you're a very civil guy and you're bipartisan and everybody likes you and we could use you here in Washington again."

Wait a minute, what makes somebody "one of the good guys"? Being civil and charming -- and disastrous policies be damned? And what makes somebody "bipartisan"? Being a Bush apologist through and through who got his job in the cabinet by helping build Bush's Pioneer money machine -- raising $90 million for W's 2000 run and bringing in huge corporate soft money donations to the GOP?

2. 2 more commentaries on CM
This one is hilarious - If Chris Mathews Covered the Continental Congress

This one is not funny - it's about CM trying to posit that the church burnings were the handiwork of a gay and/or liberal
for no conceivable coherent reason. It's also tied to a campaign to appeal to his advertisers in protest.

I don't believe I have ever heard of ANY TV pundit (no matter what stripe) say anything as IDIOTIC and IRRESPONSIBLE as that in my life (re: the church burnings). I knew Tweety was off the skids, but this just absolutely takes the cake. This man ought to have his program pulled, yanked, snatched from the air immediately. MSNBC should have fired him on the spot. Unfortunately, no such thing will happen. Actually, I'll bet the 'xecs at NBC have been just salivating over the fool's statements.

That man really is scarily BONKERS! :crazy: :eyes:

3. Tweety has built himself up as a rethug poster boy.
He along with others continue to masquerade as "news" reporters.

7. It's just all so *amusing* to these schmucks
It's all just charming cocktail chatter. Nothing at stake, no lives in the balance. I'm so sick of this attitude by the DC Kool Kids of lacid bemusement. Don't they know there's a war on? They make me sick.
