I feel nothing but sympathy for our troops... |
|
They believe in their country. They don't believe in war but they beleive in their country. They do not believe their leaders will intentionally lie or put them into harm's way without a very good reason. It's almost a youthful blind allegiance.
And now, they are coming home scarred and torn, often times their bodies torn apart, missing arms and legs and more. War is such a cruel game to play on our people. It is a failure of diplomacy. It is a failure to communicate. It is a failure to react with the necessary measured response. So others, our own sons and daughters, pay the price...

1. I support those young men and women because they took an oath |
|
to protect the people of this nation as well as the Constitution. They may not believe in this war, as I don't, however, I admire them for standing by their oaths.
Now, isn't it a shame we cannot say the same for the idiot that took an oath very similar; however, he continues to rip our Constitution a shred at a time.
If only we could get our military to revolt and the majority of this country would be with them. Stuff like that only happens in movies; however, hopefully we can get these demons out of office before three more years of their Hell they are putting on everyone but their friends.

3. Half of those who've died were over 25 years old. . . |
|
better than a quarter were over 30. We need to stop talking about them as "youths." They are responsible adults.

4. But most still believe in their country... |
|
and "youth" is a relative term. I'm sure they all seemed very "young" to their mothers and fathers.

5. And do their illusions and the love of their parents. . . |
|
excuse them from responsibility for their actions? When does "youthful blind allegiance" transform from following orders to ordering followers?

6. No. None of us are excused from responsibility for our actions... |
|
But every 25-30 years a new generation comes along that is called to fight for our country, against some enemy or another, whether it be Nazism, Communism, or Islamic terrorism. And no generation yet has declined to answer the bell. And that is sad also.
