I urge all DUers to join the ABCNews.com message boards (in particular, their politics board) to raise hell with the hysterical right wingers and to get banned! It was a lot of fun for me while it lasted. All I did was call Bush a Nazi. Of course, I also insulted just about every other republican you can think of. If you read those boards, you'll see that there are two, maybe three blowhards stomping on rational discussion with posts of "boo hoo, get over it" and "that's just silly" and similarly brainless, dismissive neener-neener playground put downs. and it usually works because what rational person feels like arguing with a bonehead.

This stifles information in those very places where the non-political hang out. If there is any temptation to agree with a liberal, it is quickly snuffed out by the fear of confrontation with a verbal bully.

But I did read one of the political threads. It started with a post listing a pile of supposed indictments and convictions during the Clinton administration, and get this, ONLY ONE from the current administration, Scooter Libby ~ :rofl:

Then there's 'Duke' Cunningham, resulting in a tie to Abramoff and some defense contractors now under investigation.

It goes on and on, but in their world, only Scooter has been indicted. Wait 'til all the other indictments come down. Although I guess they'll never know since they put their fingers in their ears.

We need a complete list of crimes and convictions to just post when encountering the willfully blind.

Anyway, I couldn't get in. But ABC could use the board as an educational tool if they wanted to. There didn't seem to be anyone there who was very informed.

What I found on that board was that the pukes made themselves sound ridiculous. People who were posting in oppostion to the current fascist regime were mostly intelligent, thoughtful, and avoided cheap insults. The pukes had NO agruments, just lame insults (really lame). If the goal is for people to read the message board and be swayed by the posts, only a moran would want to be associated with bush*bots.

I recomend that DUers post, but use knowledge & intelligence. All the pukes will have to combat that is hateful speech. :) Truly, there is more than an air of despiration about the pukes on that board, posting well will illuminate this to curious lurkers.

I was active there during the run up to the selection in 2000. I stopped bothering to even read there because it such a masturbatory thing. In fact, I left there to go to Salon simply to escape all the noise.
