Need help with neo-con friends.
Howdy all. I am petitioning the knowledge and resources I know exist on these boards. Out of most of my high school and college friends, I am the lone liberal progressive among mostly conservative republicans with a libertarian.

I have battled with these guys and gals on numerous topics and currently I am engaged in the topic of the growing fascistic tendencies in America. I posted the 14 defining characteristics of fascism and made correlations with what is happening today.

I have exhausted my case and can use your help in further buttressing my argument. I need links, articles etc to help prove my cases, they are:
1. A clear, concise, summation about how the elections were stolen in both 2000 in Florida and 2004 in Ohio.
2. Examples of how liberal educators and intellectuals are being attacked.
3. Debunking the "liberal media" myth.

Thanks for your help. I have been googling alot, but there is still a ton of good material that I am sure people have at their fingertips.
Peace out and wish me luck

2. Just a though

Point 1. Stay away from it. Regretfully, so ROCK SOLID proof. I think Diebold has got a good deal of negative evidence against them, but it's not enough yet....yet. I'm pretty damn sure there is some merit to the claim of fraud too. But Neocons need rock solid proof that screams in their faces and not supportive stories. Whistle blowers and poorly covered stories are not enough because they DON'T WANT TO BELIEVE.

Point 2. Ask them to define "liberal"...most neocons can't. I've heard some crap going down here, but I cannot recall just where...

3. http://www.whatliberalmedia.com/ (and here is the idiotic Neocon retort: http://www.thatliberalmedia.com/) The retort is basically moderate or slight right news that isn't "right enough" for them. THey don't really knwo what they are talking about here.

Outside of recommending finding new friends I cannot help you further.

3. Please don't call them neo-cons

That lable really ought to be reserved for those who truly ARE Neo-cons -- and that requires that they are involved with PNAC and/or all its many friends, that they have studied under Strauss or one of his prodigees, etc.

There is a very particular philosophy that applies to the neo-cons, and while everyday folk may be fascist-leaning enough to be strong supporters, they're not even AWARE of that very particular philosophy.

6. Try going to some of these places
Bush v Gore on Wiki
MediaMatters - they always are debunking the "liberal media".
And check out this link. It talks about how a group is targeting professors at UCLA who voice "extreme" opinions.

Hope this helps!:hi:
