Bush Impeachment On Vermont Town Meeting Agenda
There's rumbling in the hinterlands, folks. From this morning's Brattleboro (VT) Reformer:

NEWFANE -- Among votes to approve the budget and education spending at Town Meeting, residents will wade into national waters and vote from the floor for the impeachment of President George W. Bush.
Selectboard member Dan DeWalt wrote the Town Meeting resolution and gathered enough signatures to get the question on to the ballot.
The vote for impeachment will be taken from the floor.
DeWalt said he was not going to bring any evidence to Newfane's meeting, claiming that the people of the town know enough about Bush's presidency to vote on the resolution.
If voters approve the resolution, DeWalt said he is going to ask U.S. Rep. Bernard Sanders, I-Vt., to file the articles of impeachment to remove the president from office.
"We have an immoral government operating illegally," DeWalt said. "I feel morally compelled to act."

3. slowly but surely, as the worm turns.
We need to take baby steps at first. THis is just the first of many such efforts.

Way to go, Newfane!

4. I forgot to mention that I drove through downtown Brattleboro
this morning and there was a congregation in front of the post office with signs, including "Impeach King George." It's starting.

6. What state is Brattleboro in?
Excuse me for my ignorance, but is this in Vermont? I'd love to see signs go up like that here in Missouri, but we have gone Republican here for much too long. Hopefully, it will change this election year...:bounce: :bounce: :hi: :dem:

10. I don't think they need encouragement in this neck of the woods.
It's a small paper and they might be overwhelmed if they were swamped with emails. Brattleboro is the bluest town in the bluest county of the bluest state. I'm not sure if their editorial page is online, but if it is, it's worth watching. They have great editorials and better letters. There is one contributor in particular, Jim Austin, who is consistently on mark. He's usually in the Saturday paper.
