Jimmy Stewart, Where are you? (Mr. Smith)
Just caught the last thirty minutes of "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" and the relevancies were astounding.

They bought the media and hosed dissension. If you haven't seen the movie or it has been a while, I recommend you rent it.

2. I watch that the other day right after watching the end of
Grapes of Wrath. It made me feel better. What is that old history axiom, the more things change the more they stay the same. After seeing those two movies, I felt, for the first time in a long time, like there was hope. We aren't any place we haven't been before, and it has always gotten better. Time for my history term to kick in -- Thermidorian Reaction!

3. Right on!
Gore's speech will make you feel better, too. He talks about WW1/WW2... no less safe than we were then.

Peace.

4. Sounds like something kentuck discussed this morning
But I couldn't agree with both of you more.

Have tried to steer my son into politics, but he will have no part of it. That is unfortunate, because he is the type of person we all need in Washington.
