As a mother, grandmother and American, I am very frightened about what's happening in my country and to our young people who simply want to live their lives in peace and harmony, as they have been raised. Keep getting the message out there for everyone to see and hopefully understand.

I sadly wonder how often this is playing out--especially among immigrant families where there remains far to much trust in authority, or language-related failure to understand the implications or what steps to take to declare CO status.

I'm sad for this young man and his family, but proud that he has held to his beliefs. I hope that he can move on from this horrible experience.

I've talked to the director of MFSO and had her send my contact information to any other members who have gone through this, including the family of Camilo Mejia, so hopefully I will be able to get a broader picture of the problem.

9. I don't understand how these military recruiters can lie to these young

people and nobody does anything about it. But then so many things about this war and the way it's been conducted seem immoral and un-American to me.
