Today Secretary Of State, Tomorrow NFL Boss?

POSTED: 2:59 pm PST February 4, 2006

WASHINGTON -- Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has managed to snag some good seats for the Super Bowl.

It could be a sign that she's looking ahead to what might be her next job: NFL commissioner.

Rice will be in the commissioner's box with Paul Tagliabue and others, including former NFL player Gene Washington. He often escorts Rice, who is single, to social events.

America's top diplomat is a lifelong football fan and has said, only half-jokingly, that she aspires to run the NFL one day.

Rice lays odds on Steelers for Super Bowl Sunday win

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice, who has said she aspires to be commissioner of the National Football League, picked the Pittsburgh Steelers to beat the Seattle Seahawks in this weekend's Super Bowl in Detroit.

"I picked Pittsburgh to beat Cincinnati; I have picked against them every game since; I'm not picking against them again. I believe the Steelers are going to win it," Rice told reporters on her way back to Washington from diplomatic meetings in London.

1. Hard to run the NFL
from prison.

But, that is, in today's world, just wishful thinking rather than the following of law.

2. I'd much rather see her...
... fucking up the NFL than busily fucking up the world in Bush's name--which is what's she's doing now.

If she's picked for such a job, the NFL and Kindasleezza deserve each other.

6. The NFL is already fucked up
She'd feel right at home.

Or maybe I feel that way because I hate football and the Super Bowl is stealing the thunder from my birthday.

3. Not qualified
Being Secretary of State and Provost of Stanford do not seem like qualifications for the job.

Furthermore, those owners and players are not about to take orders from a woman.
