Campaign update. Rick Chapman for Senate
I haven't posted much the last 3-4 days. I've been busy talking with several potential campaign managers, and assessing the situation down here in Florida.

I've decided to run a full fledged campaign against Bill Nelson. I've been to several fundraisers the last couple of nights, and talked over my plans with the current "powers that be" within the Democratic Party in Florida. The consensus seems to be, that although Nelson votes more often than not with the Republicans, and because he's an incumbent Democrat, I shouldn't upset the applecart. My decision is, FUCK THEM!!

I'm tired of being the only industrialized nation in the western world that doesn't provide heath care for ALL of it's citizens. I'm appalled that I knew that Iraq didn't have WMD or have any connection to 9/11, but my Senator, Bill Nelson didn't. He had access to the same information that I did, and chose to ignore it. He not only voted for that horrendous bankruptcy bill, but voted down EVERY amendment to soften it for our soldiers overseas, the people of New Orleans, and people with medical problems.

It was a long, hard decision to take on Nelson. He already has $8 million in the bank. I have $50. I'm not accepting funds yet, even though some of you have offered and asked where to send them. I wanted to make sure that I was in it to the finish, before I would accept any. I'm in it to the finsh! As of now, I have registered the domain of www.rickchapmanforsenate.com , and have paid for hosting for the next year, we'll get it up and running in the next few days. If I knew how to do it, I'd post a few pages now. But, it'll be up and running in a few days.

Anyway, a lot of "establishment Dems" are pretty pissed off at me right now. The prevailing thought is that I could beat Nelson, and then lose to Katherine Harris. My thought is, that Nelson votes exactly the same as Harris on most of the issues. The only difference is, that he has a (D) next to his name. In the numbers game in the Senate, it does matter. But, I want to put a (P) next to my name for people, or a (C) citizen.

Please support me, because I'm joining this fight for you. I love everyone at DU.

Sincerely,
Rick Chapman

4. One request
I honestly think your chances of beating Nelson in the primary are, to say the least, not very good.

But, if that miracle occurs, YOU HAD BETTER KICK THE LIVING CRAP OUT OF KATHERINE HARRIS. I will fight tooth and nail to make that occur, in fact if you need a volunteer in the Delray Beach area you had better call me. I'll deliver the Boca/Delray/Boynton area personally, though that aint saying much because Harris is about as popular as Ebola around here.

Good luck Rick. And thanks. Thanks for doing this.

I want primaries for each and every one of them, and now we are one step closer to making that a reality.
