If they left a load of trees up, it will make for interesting racing....and it will likely slow down the times.

but the builders wanted to knock down a bunch of them to get their big equipment up there to build the venues at the top.. They basically wanted to clear-cut a bunch of them so they could drive the stuff up.. The Italians said NO..and made them fly the stuff in , drop it down and assemble it there..
