I had forgotten about this. I wrote it a couple years ago and posted it in a variety of places. I personally thought it was pretty funny, but the freaky thing was that a bunch of right-wingers responded with "hell yeah!" kind of things. They didn't realize it was satire, and found it to be a completely rational post.

Anyway, I thought I'd respost it.

This Isn't Your Fathers President Bush

A short history lesson for the communists, socialists, Bush-haters and other Democrats.

This is a new kind of Conservativism, a new kind of Republican, and a new kind of President George Bush. The older generation, the Heros of the Great American War in Europe, had their Conservativism, had their Republicans, had their President George Bush, and had their President Bush attack Iraq, but that was a different time.

This is the new kind of Bombing Iraq, the new kind of President George Bush, the new kind of Republican, and the new kind of Conservativism. This is Compassionate Conservativism. This time, yes, THIS time, we're bombing Iraq out of love and compassion, whereas last time, we were just doing it for fun.

In the old days, the Conservatives of the Republican Party had President George Bush shoot bombs at Iraq, but it's not the same today. No siree. Today, we have the Compassionate Conservatives of the Compassionate Republican Party having the Compassionate President George Bush shooting Compassionate Bombs at Iraq. That's right. They're Great Big Bombs of Love!

You see, the Iraqis never did love us. Once upon a time, we tried to fix that by bombing them, then leaving them unprotected for the retaliation of Hussein, then starving them and refusing them medication, but we've learned our lessons. This time, we're just going to keep on bombing them until they love us.

We're bombing them until they stop terrorism. We're bombing them until they stop hating America. We're bombing them until they stop calling us 'The Satanic Infidel Regime of Western Oppression and Occupation'. And mostly, we're bombing them until they turn to Jesus.

God bless the new, compassionate, President George Bush and his new, compassionte, bombing campaigns in Iraq.
