Great analysis of Freepers on HuffPo
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/gene-stone/what-freepers-talk-about_b_15134.html

Some tid-bits

When one freeper spots something in society he or she finds noxious, they rise up in unison, spewing out vast and angry e-mail campaigns against the object of their derision.
It’s worth an occasional visit to their site, because freepers demonstrate a great deal about what the far-right is thinking, and the remarkable depth of their fury toward anything running counter to the far-right movement.
...
Most freepers claim to be reverent Christians, but their Christianity is one more reminiscent of pagan ferocity than anything Jesus ever preached. When they talk of love, they talk about a obedient experience that can only be shared by like-minded freepers; people who dare love in a fashion not acceptable to the freepers deserves to rot in hell for eternity--and the freepers would be happy to send them there. Secular Jews, gays, atheists, agnostics, liberals--none of these know what love truly is, because love is something that exists only among the righteous far-right.
...
Sometimes the comments are so harsh the freeper must be temporarily thrown off the board; usually these remarks center not on hate, but on thoughts of actual murder. One freeper who was ejected said, “There is only one solution to the Klintons, two 45 rounds and a nice little spot in Marcy Park.”

What a sorry group.:(

1. Freepers study to stay ignorant.
Over at Free Republic, the Republicans are still balancing budgets while Democrats fiddle; Ronnie Reagan is an accepted national hero and George Bush doesn't lie to America. It's Big Rock Candy Mountain over there.

Of course, the fact is, Freepers are incorrectly informed (or just plain wrong) about nearly every subject. The reason for that is that Freepers keep a filter on their facts. Only friendly facts -- those that fit their preconceived presumptions -- are allowed at Free Republic. If facts can't be bent to make conservatives look good, or can't be addressed because of how damning to conservatives they are ... well, such thoughts are just not allowed to be thought over at FR. Doubleplus ungood unmutual.

At FR truth-tellers are labeled as trolls and tossed out -- along with any actual facts those 'trolls' brought in with him.

DU'ers can defeat Freepers at any objectively graded quiz about modern politics, because Freepers stay so intentionally ill-informed. Their ignorance is deliberate -- the same way their mean-spirited selfishness is. Most of them really have no idea about what's really going on, which is the only thing that is going to keep a lot of them from perdition.
