I saw it a few weeks ago. Very powerful, and his memory of that time is amazing. He would go over and over the events of the day in complete detail to keep his sanity.

8. Corporations collecting info

A caller, and a reply from this ahole just reminded me of this.....

A couple years ago I got a solicitation call from someone. I listened to the spiel for awhile, and then said I wasn't interested. I'm glad I didn't hang up, because then the guy asked me if I wanted the free gift, and rattled off my address, AND my bank account number! He claimed the free gift was monetary, and that it would be given with no obligation through electronic transfer.

I asked him how the hell he got my bank account. He said it was on his list. I asked him where he got the list, and he gave me the phone number of a company he was making calls for. I called the number, and found out that Domino's Pizza had been distributing the information from checks written for purchases! The company also told me they did this for many other retailers.

I turned the info into the State's Attorney. They'd never heard of it scam or otherwise. I had to wait until the next morning before I could close the bank account. When I talked to the bank I was told if anyone had initiated an electronic withdrawal the night before there would have been nothing they could have done about it, they weren't responsible, and there would have been no way for me to get my money back.

Needless to say, I no longer use checks at all.

9. Has C-SPAN Reponded To FAIR Yet?

I noticed the phone lines were set up as "Democrats" and "Repugnicans"...rather than "Support Bush" (even though what full-blooded heterosexual male doesn't??? :spank:) I just noticed that this morning.

Also, they had this goon on a couple weeks ago spewing the PNAC spin on things.

I haven't seen C-SPAN address the FAIR's evidence of their bias on Washington Journal...hopefully FAIR will follow up on this again soon.

10. They change the numbers from day to day...

and for different types of shows. For instance, yesterday the author call-in was split up by East Coast/West Coast for time reasons. I still haven't been able to figure out why they do it on WJ though. Maybe the host gets to pick? :shrug:

Methinks the choice of the numbers is made by the host/producer for specialized topics...like when they ask for "Democrats only" or split it on other than partisan lines.

However, for years they've always had the "Democrats" on one line and the "Support Bush" on the second. One flip was the "Support Bush" used to be the first line, now it's almost always second. In the past I've noticed the name changed to "Repugnicans" after there've been some critical calls, but then it gets changed back. I wonder if this is what's happening again.

It was amusing the other morning...and I've noticed this on a couple occasions...where the host begs for calls on the Repugnican line. Those must be the days when the Rove/RNC astroturf operation has the day off.
