I've heard a couple wingers talk about the fragility of Islam
how they react to a couple of cartoons. As an outside observer,Americans are the only people that say "Only in America" or "Good old American ingenuity" or "American know how". I never hear Japanese or Europeans say stuff like that.

This guy has balls! He feels strongly that he's gotta promote freedom of expression and not let yet another religion
control everyones behavior.

Will the progressives get behind this kind of thing?
I don't think we should cower now or the religious right wins again.

3. But, isn't religious tolerance a progressive value, as well?
Just asking.

4. Perhaps
Supposedly but it is hard for someone to be tolerant if they've had bad experiences in their past with Religion. I think you'll find a lack of tolerance on both sides just as equally.

5. Sure is. But its the violent Muslims that are being intolerant
(originally I typed angry muslims, but really you can be angry and not intolerant)

The problem at hand is that a group of Muslims are intolerant of freedom of speech, and apparently of non Islamic beliefs.

Personally, I don't care what muslims believe-have at it fellas. I DO however care when they try to force their beliefs on me or kill me if I say or print the wrong thing.

7. They seem to demand that non-Muslims must follow their Muslim rules
which seems like a pretty outrageous demand.

10. Yeah, right, meanwhile they're up in arms about 'Merry Christmas'.
and all the howling about the 'criminalization of Christianity'. Boo fucking hoo. Sure seems like right winger's 'faith' is fragile - like a cheap suit it unravels if any thread is tugged.

11. Go to Scotland.
Every god damned thing has a label on it telling you it's better because it's Scottish.
