Tomorrow is going to be an exciting and interesting day...
We get to see the Republicans at their lying best. Like in the Western Union commercial, "Well, you see, I was walking down the street and I was robbed by a couple of wild squirrels...they knocked me down, twisted my arm behind my back, and took my billfold....Can you send some more money?"

It will be very interesting to watch Gonzalez squirm under some tight questioning. They really have no legitimate excuses for breaking the law but they will do their best acting job convincing the people otherwise. Tomorrow's lies should rate right up near the top in their ingenuity...right up there with "slam dunk"...

2. Yes, we will hear all the ReThug "spin" words coming out of
Bush's personal enabler. "irresponsible sources", "liberal media", etc. will all be blamed. I am looking forward to Feingold having a chance to confront him on his past "misstatements" to him.

3. I do not have a good feeling about the outcome.
The Democrats will question him sharply, I have no doubt, but I think it will end up by passing a law that enables Shrub to continue what he is doing. There are too many bushbots in congress for Dems to get anything done. I hope I am wrong and will be pleasantly surprised tomorrow, but they have gotten by with so much they still may be on a winning streak.

Senators considering constitutional amendment to limit war powers

There is movement afoot that could still save this Democracy. It is in the darkest times that the smallest light of change shines brightest. NGU

8. With the republicans in control??
And will this be like the "Patriot Act"? Be already mostly current laws with loopholes? You can not trust these people.

7. More Like The Woody Allen Movie
The wife walks in to see her husband screwing his secretary in their bed...she looks at him and asks what he is doing. The husband, still doing the secretary, looks at his wife and says "what in dear life are you talking about?". She keeps screaming at him about what she's seeing while he finishes his/their business, his secretary gets up and leaves, he sits up and gets dressed and all the wihle the wife screams about what she was seeing...and all throughout the husband keeps saying "I don't know what you're refering to...you should do something about those hallucinations"...

We'll see every attempt to lie, parse and distort. I have already stockpiled both popcorn and shovels as I expect Gonzo will be unleashing a flurry of whoppers and the fireworks will be interesting to watch. The problem is this regime has a distorted victory here. People, even the wingnuts, don't like the concept of government wiretapping...but if it's framed in "catching terrorists", then that's ok. Tonight I heard a bushbot enabler on the radio...Bruce Dumont...actually claim that the spying program must be working since we haven't been hit since 9/11. That somehow this has made intelligence better.

Now ya think this regime would pass up an opportunity to expose a plot they foiled or some "sleeper cell" they've busted? Damn right they would. So that strawman about how the spying has prevented the "next 9/11" is pure bullshit.

10. I predict their main defense for not getting warrants will be based on
Edited on Mon Feb-06-06 12:50 AM by higher class
'technology' - they will say that the law doesn't apply to the technology that they use - and they won't tell us what the technology is. The first thing out of any of the mouths of their apologist-propagandists will be the word 'technology'. They will attempt to keep their technology excuse secret and say they can only share it with Roberts and Rockefeller and there it will die - UNLESS WE YELL AT OUR LEADERS to ACT.

Remember, Ms Toensing was the first to say it is the fault of Congress on the same day or a day after it broke - she said that Congress didn't update the law to match the technology, therefore they are doing nothing illegal (paraphrased to the best of my memory which is always getting overloaded).

She is definitely one of the lawyers they would have gone to for a way around the law since she helped write the law - she was in on it when FISA was created. She will probably be out there pimping on screen, unless she is behind closed doors advising Gonzales and Roberts.

She's super woman so maybe she'll do both.

Disgust time.
