A good liberal would welcome his Republican opponents....
Edited on Sun Feb-05-06 11:38 PM by kentuck
...back into the camp of the good Americans. A good liberal is able to forgive. They were led astray by slick propaganda and outright lies. We should not hold that against them. We are all Americans. Yes, they screwed up by supporting a war based on lies but haven't we all screwed up at some time or another in our lives. Yes, they were gullible and weak-minded but we should not be too judgemental. After all, they love their country as much as you do. We should cut them a little slack. All of us have done stupid things in our lives. We should invite them back into the American family. A good liberal does not hold a grudge forever... :)

1. So to you we should keep forgiving them
even if they never repent of the evil they did and the lies they told. I am willing to forgive them if they repent their evil ways. but not before then.

3. Sorry. Maybe after the first time they voted for him, but not twice.
They knew he was a liar and a piece of shit when they voted for him the second time. Nope. I hold grudges against people who were complicit in the destruction of my country. I DETEST them.

9. I hear ya, and I admit to feeling a special animosity toward repug women.
Detest is too kind of a word for them as far as I am concerned.

17. I know. I was trying to be as nice as I could about it.
When it comes to repukes, I have a very hard time saying anything nice about them. So, I never do.:7 They deserve our contempt.

11. And you know they knew for sure?
What about my grandmother? She didn't know. I hardly get to see her to talk to her and she only has basic cable and no internet. She did believe George Bush up until recently but now she doesn't. And you want America to change with your attitude?

15. :) OK, I welcome grandma, but THAT'S IT.
;)

The majority of idiot supporters knew very well who they were voting for.

4. well, most Republicans are Democrats who don't know anything
if they knew something they wouldn't be so susceptible to spin. So when one of them sees the light I'm down with welcoming them back in. :)

6. Agreed. Spurning anyone who genuinely wants to repair this country
would just be cutting off our nose to spite our face. Let us work together to save the country, then we can work out our political differences.

7. Most Republican voters are decent, hardworking, clueless people
Just like most Democratic voters.

I live in a sea of red voters. But they're not fundy nutjob freepers. They don't watch FOX "news." Or religious programs. They don't "get" what's wrong with this country because they don't know what's going on. They tend to vote the way a parent or family member taught them to vote. The Republican party has changed, and they don't realize it. They don't know that their party has been hijacked by fund-raising fundamentalist zealots.

It's actually pretty easy to talk with them about what's wrong with things, and how their party has changed.

13. Bingo
You have to find each person's "weakness" whether about "terrorism" or health care, jobs, enviornment etc.

18. Healthcare. Iraq. Wages. MAJOR issues for them
Edited on Mon Feb-06-06 12:05 AM by leftstreet
You can "flip" em easily by asking if they know that a senator (Kennedy) has a healthcare plan called Medicare For All, or asking if they know there's a congressman (Murtha) who has a resolution for redeploying our troops right now.

They actually do say, "you're KIDDING me! I've never heard about that!"

Edited on Sun Feb-05-06 11:52 PM by FreedomAngel82
But I agree. There are people like that. My grandmother on my dad's side for example. :) I'm just happy she doesn't trust George Bush anymore!

16. It's not just that the sheeple were led astray.
To me that is entirely forgivable. What bothers me about conservative zealots is the venomous hatred that they spew everywhere. The "libruls hate America" kind of stuff.
