5. It is definitely a Freeper joke: Look at the sample pages
One says "Democrats make sure everybody can go to school, just like Mommy does." The picture in the background is of some supposedly liberal elite institution with a $160,000 price tag. This is meant to point out the hypocrisy of "liberal values." Another page shows Mommy "sharing" her toys, while several people walk by a homeless man in the background. Again, the point is that liberals live in a hypocritical dreamworld. If you look at the author page, the guy is too stereotypical to be believe: Oberlin and Ohio State, lives in Madison with his "partner" and her daughter, etc.

It's quite subtle and quite well done for Freeper humor. I'm impressed.

3. Thanks for the link.
Just ordered a copy.

Here's an opinion piece on the book:

>Jeremy Zilber, 39, who lives in Madison and teaches government at Lawrence University in Appleton, is getting nationwide attention for his new, self-published children's book, "Why Mommy Is a Democrat."

He has also, perhaps not surprisingly, become the subject of vitriolic ridicule on various conservative Web sites and blogs.

"It started immediately," Zilber was saying Thursday. "I think I got hate mail before I sold my first copy."<

freeper posts on the book (cited in the above article):

>"Democrats make sure we all share our toys, so we are all equally poor."

"Democrats make sure we are always safe, who needs these naughty firearms anyway?"

"Democrats make sure children can go to school, and get the same crappy education."

Some were nasty: "Democrats will make sure that it stays legal for mommy to murder her unborn babies."
