Happy New Years!
After a short sabbatical away from the politics, I am back. Happy New Years fellow DUers. And I hope you all had a great holiday. I did.

I see from the postings that not much has changed in the few days I was away. Lets hope and work to make 2006 a banner year. Up here in Canada, we have federal elections to contend with....and you have your own elections down south to deal with.

My prediction for Canuck elections is another minority government - liberal yet again. What the opposition still fails to recognize is that Canadians did send a message before and that message has not changed even though politicians fail to realize. We do not want a conservative government. We had one with Brian Mulroney and he sold us out with the GST and free trade. The final blow was the failure of the Meech Lake Accord which created the bloc in the first place. History is not that old that we have forgotten. We do not trust the likes of Stephen Harper. The Bloc will maintain Quebec. The NDP have not yet gained enough popularity to make any major inroads. Conservatives will still carry the west.....and it will come down to Ontario once again.

And my hopes for American politics are with the democrats....mostly because I feel so strongly that George needs to be impeached. If Clinton needed to be impeached because he lied about having an affair with an aid.....then surely George needs to be impeached for taking the nation to war under false pretenses. But, my views are not the same as many Americans it appears. And yet....I still hope for better days ahead.

1. Thanks for the kind words
It seems we should all be in good spirits in the New Year, since we all seem to be ready to get what we want. The next two weeks will go my way, and then after that the walls will crumble around the establishment.
