Army Recruiters at the West Michigan auto show this weekend.
I went to ask for my money back and they refused. Went over and told the Recruiters that their were plenty of people at the auto show who voted for Bush and recruiting shouldn't be a problem. My wife ended up dragging me out before the recruiter came over and got into my face. She new I was in No mood for that ASSHAT.
How bad are recruiting numbers when they have to recruit at the auto show.

1. Seems like a good venue
to me. But annoying. Glad your wife got you out of there before you had a problem.

2. I pay to enter an auto show and have to see Army Recruiters.
That's like saying the Super Bowl would be a good venue.

3. maybe the recruiters thought they could sucker someone into thinking ....
that an Army bonus could help pay for that new car ... say, how were the models you saw?

8. seems to me it would be a bad venue
Too much money involved. The people who attend Auto Shows tend to have some disposable income and are not desperate to get out of poverty. But, then I guess driving into ghettos were someone might shoot you or jack you is bad for the recruiters health.

5. I really have no problem with military recruiting...
But there should be a law mandating a "cooling period". Meaning you shouldn't be allowed to make such a life-altering decision on the spot. It's easy for young men and women to be swayed by what is basically a high-pressure sales pitch. Let them go home, think about it, talk about it with their family and friends, then see if they're still willing to sign up.

7. I agree totally, and that
makes sense to me. They have every right to join if they want, but it's such an important, life-altering decision that they need to be sure they've talked it all out with family and friends and thoroughly thought it through.

10. Great idea
because I would have chased my son around the house with a stick. I have enough problem when he wanted to be a helicopter medic. I try not to think about it.

6. Like it or not, they have as much
right to be there as you, since they probably paid to be there, just like you. If you don't like it, all you had to do was just ignore them. And if someone is truly interested in going into the military, they have the right to talk to the recruiters. If they're not interested, then they'll just ignore them or politely decline. It's that simple.

12. I guess then I should have been told before I bought my ticket they were
Recruiting and I wouldn't have paid the nine dollars to attend the event.
