This guy is trying to defend * budget. Is anyone else listening to this guy? He's so pathetic. Gene Sperling from the Clinton administration is on also.

1. Would this be the budget that is overwhelmingly underfunding a lot |
|
of social programs and our schools? Can't see how it can be defended, really.

2. This would also be the budget that doesn't include war costs |
|
I believe that Katrina rebuilding money is also off-budget, but am not quite certain. I'm 100% certain that we don't count the costs of Iraq and Afghanistan in the budget - they're all supplementals.

Everything is Clinton's fault, of course.
Fucking unbelievable.
Sperling is laying into one of them (an obvious racist) here at the end. Good for him.

10. Well, it was George's bad luck to come in as the Enron-type |
|
of book-cooking was getting cleaned up and the dot com boom went bust, but that is still no excuse for the dire financial straits into which he has navigated this country. x( He's always had a bad head for business.

where is he from?!?
He argued that the government should not longer pay for home oxygen at $200 month because in 6 months you could "buy one of those oxygen machines for $1000". He argued that people who do this are "ripping off the government." He actually said "yes, it's not good for the person on home oxygen, but the good news is we're decreasing government waste."
Did anybody else hear this?
And this in the days when they kick people out of the hospital as fast as possible without completely killing them?

11. Yeah, he also lied when he said that $58,000 was in the top |
|
15% of income. I looked it up and according to 2002 census, the top 20% started at $84,000. I just couldn't believe that 85% of people in this country made less than $58,000.
