It’s Monday, I think I’ll convert the Middle East to democracy. |
|
Human Hubris. Just as Dr. Frankenstein said, “This sentiment of the worth of my nature supported me….for I dreamed it criminal to throw away in useless grief those talents that might be useful to my fellow creatures.” He then created his monster. Many people, such as Dr. Frankenstein and bu$h thought they were God’s gift to man and it would be a sin to let their “talents” go to waste.
So if bu$h accomplished nothing in his life before he became pResident why does he think he can accomplish something now? Yet his goal is to convert the ME to democracy. The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry. We’re in fact seeing it go awry.
Even truly talented men like Alfred Nobel realized that their foolish ambitions created something terrible. One wonders if people should direct their talents to writing a good novel rather than using their so-called talents in science or business, which often does nothing but create misery. Just think if Enron hadn’t swallowed up so much cash what might have been accomplished?

2. A RW fundamentalist Christian |
|
should be the last person to try and convert the ME to secular democracy.
The non-stop full-frontal military and propaganda assaults on muslims have just made Islam stronger and pushed more muslims towards radicalism.
