Help with Rangel quote. Fake?
Many of you have probably seen the following "quote" going around recently in some form or another:

Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., who is African-American, was asked on PBS what
he thought about the president.

"Well," said Rangel, "I really think that he shatters the myth of white
supremacy once and for all."

I can't find a legitimate source on this. Does anyone have anything on it?

2. Google is your friend (well, maybe!)
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A23747-2005Apr3.html

But there was nothing inadvertent about a quip from Rep. Charles B. Rangel (D-N.Y.), second-most senior member of the Congressional Black Caucus. Rangel was interviewed on New York Public Television WLIW21 last Monday night and asked for his quick reaction to various people. The first was Bush.

"Well," Rangel said. "I really think that he shatters the myth of white supremacy once and for all; it shows that, in this great country, anybody can become president."

We have a winner.

5. Thanks. I tried Google first.
All I found were links to blogs, no legitimate news sources. Maybe I googled the wrong part of the quote.

3. who cares? :-)
Even though we know thanks to BES it's not fake, it's a really great quote anyway. Were it fake, would you really care?

4. Why are you posting this?
You don't know how to use Google? Do you have a problem with the quote? Maybe you should state the context of the quote as well... :eyes:
