If we can see the fascism, why can't our elected Democratic leaders? |
|
And why don't they stand in unity against it? All I know, is that things cannot continue status quo. The boiling point is very close. It would sure be nice to have some leaders with balls standing to help us when it does. Please understand, I am not talking about the nice speeches that Kerry, Edwards, Kennedy etc have given lately. I'm talking about LITERALLY standing as leaders for us to get behind in this fight for our country. The Constitution is being dismantled. They haven't touched the Declaration of Independence yet, but that will come to. As citizens, WE HAVE CERTAIN INALIENABLE RIGHTS. Where is our leadership to help us exercise those rights?

First off the Republicans know that this is the only way that they can stay in power, they have to support BushCo, no matter what the reason.
The Democrats are afraid of the MSM!!

election 2008 comes along, there will be a monstrous "Al Queda inspired" calamity happen and there will be no election because we have to support our "president" in wartime. Martial law will be invoked and never again will we have our country back. And I do not need to put on my tinfoil hat to imagine it. We are in dire trouble and we, the people, are the only ones who can do anything about it. NO Republican works for the people, they work for a dictator and will go where he wants them to go.

Ditto for 2004.
This emotional hyperbole only costs you hair follicles and lifespan.
Anything can happen at any time. And why should something happen only on a specified day? 9/11 didn't happen and before 9/11, 9/11 was any old day of the week.

I never heard of it, I'm just pointing out that al-Qaeda (or whoever it is) likes memorable dates (eg. 9/11,3/11,7/7)

23. How strange I was thinking the same thing, even though |

the 666 is flawed idea because it uses arabic numerals. When that book in the bible was written Roman numerals would have been used, I believe, which would make the mark appear as VI VI VI, or DCLXVI. Perhaps some historians can weigh in on this.

7. They can, but they are so invested in the status quo they choose to be |
|
'Good Germans' and go along, hoping to insure some place at the table.
Not unlike the talking heads who go along with the party line in hopes of maintaining 'careers in journalism'.
Fools! All fools! When the power is entrenched enough, there will be no need for other politicians at any table. When only one story is told, there will be no need for a chorus of voices to tell it.
Fools all! They rush toward their own obsolesce in their race to trample We The People for corporate/fascist masters.

9. Because most of them are a part of it. |
|
The democratic party, although it has sometimes been an agent of positive change, has always primarily a pressure valve to channel proletarian anger over economic injustice into "legal" political action, thus preventing violent revolution and real change. They throw the proles a few scraps now and then, and during really dire times, like the Great Depression, there may even be enough momentum to create a New Deal, but it is important to remember that most of these folks in office are part and parcel of the same power elite that the republicans are.
Even if we had dem majority in both houses and a dem president, I would expect little more than window dressing. We'd have a hike in the minimum wage, some curtailing of the excesses of the patriot act, a bit more fiscal discipline, but the rich would still be richer, the poor would still be getting poorer if not dying for lack of medical care.
Don't you remember the Clinton years?

11. Fascism: corporate cooperation with government to suspend democracy. |
|
And the reason...to maintaing a dictatorial, autocratic governance for those usurping democracy. It happened after the 1960's, when we boomers let our guard down, and those social and political activists among us focused on acquiring our wealth, estates, and comfort. It's up to our kids generation to provide the energy, and our duty is to provide historical context and support. Now we have 30 years of steady erosion of our right against unreasonable search and siezure, our right to annonymity in peaceful club memberships, our right to avoid religious indoctrination in government and business associations, our right to redress government with impunity, our right to equal time for opposing views broadcast by the licensed public media, just to name a few.
