Is Tom Feeney the next Tom Delay?
In lieu of the Abramoff Scandal and the Gonzalez hearing where breaking the law seems second nature to Republicans, how do you all like knowing that someone like Tom Feeney is out there representing US interest? Only a handful of people voted for him, yet he has access to the Chinese in ways that would make your skin crawl. Add to that that one of his Chinese clients was found guilty of espionage. It just boggles the mind when you read in today's Orlando Sentinel:

In wake of scandal, lawmakers defend travel

Feeney's China trip was paid for by the National Committee on United States-China Relations, a private group backed by 100 businesses. The group's board of directors includes former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.

"The relationship between the U.S. and the Chinese will in large part write the history of the 21st century," Feeney said.

Feeney said he had 34 meetings in seven days, including with China's premier and other top officials. They were able to press Chinese leaders on intellectual-property rights -- a big issue for U.S. businesses that have their software and other products stolen -- and about keeping Iran free of nuclear weapons.

Feeney and his congressional colleagues on the trip were the first U.S. officials to be allowed into China's space center. Feeney said he learned that China's growing space program will soon be able to launch heavier loads of satellites, will have better resolution on spy satellites and could someday knock out key U.S. Global Positioning Systems.

3. It just astounds me that, suddenly, we have all these corrupt
politicians who are getting access to foreign nations. As they ascend higher up the echeleons of political life, they have the contacts in place. It's no wonder that investigations are being thwarted at all levels of government.

In the same article it says that Ginny Brown-Waite went to Israel, paid by an AIPAC group. It's just frightening that there doesn't seem to be oversight over these jaunts.

2. Feeney's the same scum who wanted rigged voting software

On December 6th, 2004 , The BRAD BLOG (www.bradblog.com) published a sworn affidavit by Florida software programmer Clint Curtis. In his affidavit and videotaped sworn testimony presented before members of the U.S. House Judiciary committee, Curtis claims to have been asked by U.S. Congressman Tom Feeney (R-FL) to design a "vote-rigging software prototype". This request took place in October 2000 during a meeting at Yang Enterprises, Inc. (YEI), a computer consulting firm in Oviedo, Florida.

Curtis, a life-long Republican up until then, had been a programmer at YEI, which had several top-secret clearance contracts with the state, NASA and other government agencies. Curtis' understanding at the time was that the prototype he was being asked to create (built to the very precise specifications of Feeney) was to address Feeney’s concerns that the Democrats might attempt to electronically rig the election and Feeney wanted to know what to look out for in that event. After informing YEI CEO Mrs. Li-Woan Yang that he would not be able to hide the vote-flipping routines in the software source-code as Feeney had requested, Curtis testified that Mrs. Yang informed him that the program was needed to "rig the vote in South Florida ".-

At the time of the alleged meeting, Feeney was the incoming Speaker of the Florida House, and also a registered lobbyist and the general corporate counsel for YEI. Previously, he had been the running mate of Jeb Bush during his 1994 unsuccessful first bid for Florida Governor. In November 2000, Feeney gained national notoriety after declaring open defiance of the Florida Supreme Court by vowing to choose Presidential electors for George W. Bush regardless of whether a court-ordered recount showed that Gore won Florida . He eventually ascended to the U.S. Congress and today sits on the House Judiciary Committee. Although he was outspent two to one by his Democratic opponent in 2002, Feeney beat him handily at the polls and then ran unopposed for the same seat in 2004.

...CONFIRMED LINKS TO CHINESE ESPIONAGE...

Curtis also reported in his affidavit and to the Florida State Inspector General that YEI was employing an illegal Chinese alien by the name of Hai Lin "Henry" Nee who was inserting "wire-tapping modules" into sensitive database programs which YEI had built for NASA and other companies. Curtis also alleged that the brother of Mrs. Li-Woan Yang, the YEI CEO, had been a deported Chinese spy.

6. Exactly.
And now he's making contacts in China, but they blame Democrats for anything that goes wrong with China. Boggling.

7. The Bushies already paved the way in China.
Neil Bush, aside from his fondness for porking Oriental women, is up to his eyeballs with China.
(Thank you, Scoop, for actually reporting the news!)

9. And he's the same scum who engineered a bill in the Florida House
to "deliver" electors for * in 2000 in case Gore electors were selected because of the recount showing that Gore had won.

Feeney is scum.

5. I remember Feeney
http://www.seminolecountywatch.com/artman/publish/article_64.shtml

In the 2000 Election he was Speaker in Florida House.

"During that time, Feeney led an effort that considered having the legislature presumptively elect Florida's electors rather than waiting for the normal electoral process to sort out the results of the actual election."

12. How does he keep getting away with it?
You know he's probably wiretapped since that spy situation.

11. No, this is the face of the GOP future, God help us all.
The local papers nearly drool over him, read this bio. I know you have seen his face on C-Span steamrolling legislation through. He is the face of the future. Get used to it unless we win some seats back in November.
