Anyone see the interchange between Durbin and the Powerline reporter?
Some reporter asked Durbin a question that basically regurgitated the Republican talking points. Durbin said something to the effect that, "Yes, your question reiterates what the Republicans are saying." Then Durbin asked what news organization the guy belonged to and he said Powerline (Pajama something?) Then when Durbin finished answering the question, he again stated that he had never heard of Powerline as he was walking away, and the reporter said something like, "Dan Rather has heard of us." It must have been this propaganda service (I can't bring myself to call it a news service) that helped bring down Dan Rather. The so-called reporter said it with such smug pride, almost like, "We brought down Dan Rather, we can bring you down too."

Brother! It seems like there are Republican "plants" everywhere in the media--from that sister of the 9/11 victim, to this guy from Powerline, to Chris Matthews, to Nora O'Donnel, to Andrea Mitchell... The list goes on and on and on. And the so-called "liberal media" has such a disproportionately smaller number of reporters to actually try and give us the truth. It almost feels like this "hearing" has been carefully planned and staged in order to get Bush off the hook for his illegal spying, while at the same time, give him even more power to illegally spy on us in the future. I don't thing Specter is going to be fair about this and not making Gonzales swear in is evidence of that.

This makes me sick and angry, and I feel like I'm helplessly watching by as our country sinks into a facist dictatorship.

3. I saw it and felt like some Repug thug was planted. Whenever
Dems speak it seems like some RW scumbag is there to trash him with impunity. I thought he said he was from Pajama media. He also made the remark about Dan Rather knew who they were. How are these guys different from some nutcase who just stepped off the street?

6. Powerline is a blog out of the Twin Cities that swiftboated Senator
Daschle. They held a dinner celebrating the "fall" of Dan Rather and were connected with Gannon/Guckert. They are slime slime slime.

8. Terribly creepy. Sounds like "Mr. Reporter" was outraged someone
clarified the situation. How horrible! To be a reporter and to have the 'truth' break out in one of your interviews. Not what this patsy was getting paid for.

17. You're right
I just didn't realize it until Bush became president. I think a lot of us have gone from being fat, dumb and happy in the Clinton days to being much more informed and (as a result), much more worried about what is going on. Before this administration, I couldn't have told you the Attorney General's name. Now I know enough (and spout off enough) that my family thinks I'm too obsessed by politics!

I just hope to God that we can overcome election fraud to win back the House and Senate (or at least one of them). We have to keep the faith and do what we can.
