To "conservatives" of all stripes:

Had a Democratic Administration done any of these things that we're told are being done for our protection, in our name, would you have supported its efforts?

The short answer?

"Hell, no."

Now, I like to think, and am probably correct in doing so, that I would oppose these moves by either side. Had it been a Democratic administration and congress that was pulling this stuff, I would've been just as aggressive in my opposition. But, then again, I can only speak for myself.

For once someone just needs to tell these people:

"Just answer the question, yes or no. Would you have supported a Democratic Administration and Congress that implemented these policies?"

The follow up question... "So how is this different?"
