Rule of law?

wasn't that the fascist call to arms about 8 years ago, or so?

why don't the spineless ones start using it, hand in hand with "retoring honor and dignity to the White House?"

there are so many different soundbites/catchphrases they can use

anybody think of some more; something that would resonate with the public at large?

1. How about
"And to the best of my ability, I will preserve, protect, and defend the constitution of the United States of America." But that doesn't apply to Bush.

2. Exactly...pugs back then loved to crow about how egregiously WJC
violated his oath of office by lying in a court of law, even though they were never able to prove that.

3. Well maybe we are all seeing the best of his ability . . .
If so it's high time for Georgie to leave.

4. you realize that the mastery of the simple, catchy soundbite
is the main reason the fascists (and they truly ARE) were able to steal power, beginning with the superb marketeers Deaver, Nofziger, Rollins, etal, back in the 80s.

Gingrich realized this, gained his acolytes in congress, and the religious right (Ralph Reed chief among them), and built an astroturf grassroots movement centering around the vilification of the democratic party, symbolized by WJC, resulting in the theft of the election in 2000.

this wouldn't have been possible without media complicity, repeating such meaningless phrases like "morning in america," "contract with america," "Monicagate," "Gore the liar, "Kerry the flipflopper," "Bush the protector," etc.

this is a war of soundbites, and we lose on almost all fronts

there should be enough people here to come up with some marketing phrases suitable to sway public opinion, yes?

I saw a thread on that the other day, in which someone requested some sort of contribution to a campaign in favor of something; it involved coming up with catchy snippets...sorry...can't remember anything more

maybe if somebody else here would whose threads get looked at would adapt this one, it might get some traction, cause I think the pugs' mastery of the catchphrase is key to their success in taking power, and the battle to regain democracy needs to be fought at this level.

hearts and minds, and all that....

5. not sound bite, but constant repetition of quotes like this are of the
utmost importance

thanks to loge23

This was the idiot president in Buffalo in April of 2004:
"Secondly, there are such things as roving wiretaps. Now, by the way, any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires — a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we’re talking about chasing down terrorists, we’re talking about getting a court order before we do so. It’s important for our fellow citizens to understand, when you think Patriot Act, constitutional guarantees are in place when it comes to doing what is necessary to protect our homeland, because we value the Constitution."

This was offered off the cuff - not in response to any question. As Al Franken puts it, he basically voluntarily lied.

Franken apparently is playing this all the time

the DEMS NEED TO FRICKIN' catch on, too

Feingold is doing it in a round about way, by accusing Gonzalez of not telling the truth, but they need to beat items like this with a hard stick, just like the pugs do with their constant lies, even when outed
