3. DLC is the manifestation of shadow Rovian puppeteering |

It is a fact that the Democratic party is made up of diverse viewpoints on behalf of the people in it. But fostering this division is what the DLC has done for years now. This was clearly shown in the 2004 primaries. We needed someone strong and clear-cut, not confused and introspective. Dean would have been the best choice by far IMHO, and we lost the election in June 04, not November.
The DU takes the stance that ~78% of America is Democrat. Well, I say bullshit. If that were the case, then we would be under different leadership. Instead, ~78% of America said that it wasn't turned on enough by the opposition to change our leadership.
If we are seriously going to take back politics in this country, we need a political block. We need to stop arguing and "going with our heart" in our choice of leaders. We need one clear, strong candidate to front so that we can get widespread support. I know this sounds like the GOP thinking, but IT IS GOP THINKING. This is how we got our asses handed to us (pun intended) for the last two decades.
As a side note, on NPR tonight, George Washington was discussed as pertains to U.S. history. The fact that he worked so hard at unifying the colonies with cooperation and placement of people from all parts of the early U.S. in national political positions really struck me. This really explains why the South can get its shit together when it comes to government. They build consensus and operate in mass. The last time this really happened was during FDR's administration. We need the strong voice. We need the uniform and solid base. We need to pick ONE candidate for a leader, and we need to do it now.

4. The DLC is all about a vague and confused message |

This is what naturally happens when you serve two masters, the Democratic Party and Corporate America. I think we can see who is winning that battle. In fact, the only time their message is clear is when it has their corporate backers fingerprints all over it or when they are attacking other Democrats (who don't support the big money agenda).

That is the DLC in a nutshell.

"The DLC is all about a vague and confused message"
Bingo. Given the fact that they can barely figure out what they're trying to say on a given day, much less say it without tripping over their feet, I don't buy into them as being the overarching tentacled demonic force that so many other DUers give them credit for being.

But they are Democrats too and IMO should be tolerated. Sorry, as a long time Democrat, that's just how I feel.
Their power was always $$$$, but that power was diminished significantly when Howard Dean knocked it out of the park with internet fund-raising that rivals what they can do.
I just don't understand the fervor in opposing them. They ain't no big thang.
Now about electronic voting machine fraud .... THAT scares the sh*t out of me.

10. Look at the lineup for 2008 |
|
And count the DLC members. They have money and influence completely out of proportion to their actual numbers. That is why they are dangerous and they are not over-hyped, imho.
