Black folks don't suffer fools very well....they know when they are being played!! (I am African American) and Black people won't ever forget Katrina and him being on vacation and eating cake at a fundraiser.

5. as far as I know,
some of my colleagues who are Black and who were conned by the Xtian Bush League are about the only people I know who honestly say they regret having voted for him. Others who seem to have finally woken up don't seem to be able to be that self-honest about it.

7. Got that right.
But this ain't for the Black people.....it's for the "moderate whites".

"Ah, gee, Martha, that Bush fella ain't no racist, see he attended that Black gal's funeral"

10. I'm pissed because Bishop TD Jakes is speaking
at Mrs. King's funeral. During the Katrina mess, Jakes was trotted out to appear with shrub. I can never look at that man the same way again--that he (Jakes) would allow himself to be used that way, in the face of what was happening with Katrina.

But I also suspect Jakes garnered some votes for * in '04--on the basis of the 'gay issue.' :puke:

11. It's so called preachers like Jakes that really piss me off.....
You know what preachers like this remind me of....they are like the house slaves during slavery. They think they are in with the master....they avoid the harsh realities and get special treatment.

But if history is any indication of people that play into these roles.....they are the most shocked when the masters turn on them. I am sure they will be shunned by these masters that they worship....
or they will be arrested and convicted of some sex crime.....

My sister listens to him sometimes but not around me.....she's in GA and I am in Seattle so that doesn't happen too often.....

13. Exactly-- You nailed Jakes!
Edited on Tue Feb-07-06 11:58 AM by bliss_eternal
I would have thought he would have at least been as horrified as the rest of us were by what was happening with Katrina--but no. He goes out with him for photo opps?! As if to say, "..see, he isn't racist--he's with a black leader!" Um, yeah right. That convinced me. NOT!

Sending a wave to Seattle from CA! :hi:

Edited on Tue Feb-07-06 01:50 PM by Virginia Dare
that Mrs. King was flown to the medical facility in Mexico where she died on Jakes' private jet.

I'm sure Johnny and Saxby have their African-American supporters to consider.
