5. Sad there are so many nos. The Civil Rights movement reshaped
this country. We are not today what would have been without that movement, therefore all living Americans have been affected by Mrs. King.

20. She lived in Atlanta and I lived on the west coast.
I truly can say that she did not inpact my life aside from being the wife of MLK. On the other hand, MLK
made me realize that non-violence is the way to make change in the world.

27. Maybe being in the east and midwest she got more press than out
on the W.Coast. She is the wife of a great civil rights leader and a mother and she was a good human being, but MLK is my man.

Edited on Tue Feb-07-06 01:08 PM by Flubadubya
It almost seems as if all the progress of Dr. King, the civil rights movement, and the war demostrators of the 60s (all things positive and progressive) have just come to a grinding halt since the Bushitler took over. Oh weep for our poor nation from Heaven Dr. and Mrs. King... weep bitterly for us.

11. If it is true...
if they are together again, and there is a heaven..

I don't think there is any weeping bitterly. They see the big picture. We can't yet.

34. I didn't vote and I know I will be shat upon big time here, but
I can't think of any impact the lady had PERSONALLY on MY life. I'm willing to admit that her husband improved the lives of African Americans to an extent but I still perceive a lot of racism...at least in this crappy corner of the world.
