Now you know why I'm naming my baby boy after him :)
Carter Dean Rubyduby.
I know this won't be a popular thing to say here, but I honestly believe he's one of the few, if not the only, politican there today not pandering for a photo op. The man and Mrs. Carter honestly believe in the lifelong work that Dr. and Mrs. King did.
On edit: ok, maybe pandering isn't the right word to convey my meaning. At a loss for the correct one though. I'm hoping you guys know what I mean.

And I don't think of him as a politician any more. "Statesman" is the word that comes to my mind.

it took courage for him to make that speech in front of the coward who calls himself President. Bush would never do this out of fear of being booed or even criticized! I always listen when Carter endorses a primary candidate or makes this kind of public statement, because I know he really means it!
The Kings turned our party from a split band of clownish bigots and powerless liberals into a powerful force for progress in the 60's and 70's. Can the same be done for the Republican party?
