US BUDGET BIGGEST IN HISTORY
The White House will boost defence and homeland security spending, while cutting many social problems, if its proposed budget, of US$2.77 trillion (A$3.74 trillion) – the biggest spending proposal in American history - is approved.

President George W Bush's overall budget for the 2007 fiscal year, starting October 1, represents a rise of about 2.2 percent in spending from this fiscal year.

And it has a projected deficit of $354 billion.

The biggest winner is defence and homeland security portfolios, with defence spending by nearly 7 percent to $439.3 billion, and lift homeland security spending by 3.3 percent to $33.1 billion.

"My administration has focused the nation's resources on our highest priority, protecting our citizens and our homeland," President Bush said in his budget message.

The US administration justified the additional defence spending by saying it needed to stave off conventional rivals while fighting the "war on terror".

8. In Amerika's dictatorship, people have no say.
Just like Bush wants it:

"If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator," Bush joked.

5. Okay I have a question....Can states starve the *Beast of taxpayer dollars
The federal government fills it's coffers with OUR tax dollars....FICA

What are the rights of the states to withold their citizens taxes and taking that money and putting it in state coffers to help those that Bushes budget cuts have hurt the worst. So the states would support their citizens. They could use the money to also support the states National Guard and Reservists and Emergency Management divisions....

Isn't the neocon mantra to starve the beast...well maybe the states should litteraly do that starve the Bushco beast of money so they can't fund their war machine, and giving our money away to select religions to promote their biased compassion...

I am sure it's not feasible but it's always nice to think what if.....

6. actually it works in reverse, states need money from federal
Lots of the local budget shortfalls around the country are because of the lack of federal funding. No child left behind would be an example.
