E-Mail I just sent to Tweety
Chris Matthews:

I'm appalled that you attack a Nobel Peace Prize winner like Jimmy Carter but you and others in the "liberal" media continue to ignore the current president who lied to get this country involved in a war. He lied when he said in 2004 that he used the proper channels to initiate wiretaps. When that lie was revealed he admitted he broke the law, but said he as president (King?) has every right to do so. I believe you said he was "noble." This president has a long list of fibs, half-truth and out-right lies behind him and suffers from serious credibility problems. I remember how relentless you and the rest of the "liberal" media was in persuing Bill Clinton and repeating every rumor which was spread about him. It is interesting that you and the others of your ilk don't demonstrate the same standard regarding the current occupant of the White House. His lies have done more harm than Bill Clinton's private sexual dalliances ever did. The Bush lies have led to over 2,600 American deaths in Iraq, over 16,000 Americans maimed--many amputees-- and countless thousands of Iraqi men, women and children dead and maimed for life. Don't they deserve the same sense of outrage that you and others like you showed over a soiled black cocktail dress?

Signed

18. He also said it was very wrong to snub Buxh on his way from the podium
He thought he owed Buxh a handshake.

I say only if Carter was openly scratching his nuts just before....And that wouldn't have been polite at a funeral.

19. I knew it!
Here comes the fake outrage. Imagine making a funeral a political statement, unlike the weeklong stage-managed Hollywood hagiography that accompanied Reagan's death. The talking points will be that Democrats have no sense of decorum; a memorial service isn't the time or the place for a political rally; celebrating a person's life when that person did her level best to counter the incipient fascism of the repressive right shouldn't be so gauche as to mention . . . the incipient fascism of the repressive right.

Tweety's right on schedule.

5. Pssst --- It was a blue dress.
Other than that it is a good letter.
Tweety was on the air today putting meanings to Clinton's words that Big Dawg couldn't say because of all the applause. Clinton said it was an honor to be there with present and past Presidents and with his wife. Tweety didn't mention that Babs didn't show. It could have been a hit at Babs for not attending.

15. Chris, what was Bush doing at this funeral?
Edited on Tue Feb-07-06 06:18 PM by IMModerate
Was he such a great supporter and friend of the Kings? Or could his presence, perhaps, be for political points? Remember, he won't attend funerals for KIAs in his own goddam war.

Whatta scumbag! (Who, Bush or Matthews?) Answer: Heh heh.

Bush is such a dim bulb. The only time he's funny is when he's serious.

20. if you write to him, it just encourages him
Better to turn him off and not respond. MSNBC's ratings are so low that he does minimal damage--just preaches to the choir. Trying to muscle in and get some ratings between Blitzer and FNC.

21. I like your letter. It seems rational enough that he might read it.
Next step is to make argument that * is leading the most corrupt administration in history and that the concept of "conflict of interest" seems to be irrelevant to all of them.
Kudos.
