What the FUCK is WRONG with we the people!!! HELLO we the ignorant morans! Enough of this shit already. It was bad enough that 80% of we the dickheads thought Iraq did 911. Now 55% (and it'll grow, guaranteed) think Iran already has nukes???!

They're over a decade away from any nukes IF they want nukes, say the experts. Iran says they want nuclear ENERGY. Which is their LEGAL RIGHT.

Oh nooooo bush & cabal don't believe that! They know better! Just like they "knew" all about Iraq and Saddam Hussein's wants, wishes and desires.

Oh nooo Hussein had to be lying!

'Cept he wasn't.

bush & cabal were.

They still are.

How do so many Americans get to be so completely ignorant?

4. Yeah, just wait till 55% believe that Iran was behind 9/11...
I wouldn't be suprised to hear such a poll. But to be frank, I don't trust these polls much, I think the American people will eventaully figure things out, we usually do.

Yes Americans did so well figuring out bush's "wmd" lies re Iraq.
After 100,000s dead & "polytraumaed". A wee bit late.

Most, even here on DU, still haven't figured out the fact that Afghanistan was a bullshit invasion, too.

12. If you think Americans are such idiots why are you a Democrat?
The foundation of this party's philosophy is the worthiness of the people to rule through Democracy, unlike the Republican philosophy that the people should be ruled by an elite who "knows better".

8. Because whenever they've seen a headline about Iran and atomic energy
Edited on Tue Feb-07-06 09:10 PM by kenny blankenship
it invariably says "Iran's nuke program" as if it were an already established fact that Iran has been working on a bomb. Not atomic energy or nuclear energy program or even nuclear science program, but NUKE program.
Nuke program means "bombs" by the vocabulary that all ordinary Americans understand and use.

After years of being told by the stridently anti-Muslim American press that Iran is making bombs, they figure quite naturally that Iran has one now. (it's not that they're stupid it's just that they're being led to believe a certain slant by certain biased people).

11. War is a Racket
http://lexrex.com/enlightened/articles/warisaracket.htm

<snip>

WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives.

A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small "inside" group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes.

In the World War a mere handful garnered the profits of the conflict. At least 21,000 new millionaires and billionaires were made in the United States during the World War. That many admitted their huge blood gains in their income tax returns. How many other war millionaires falsified their tax returns no one knows.

How many of these war millionaires shouldered a rifle? How many of them dug a trench? How many of them knew what it meant to go hungry in a rat-infested dug-out? How many of them spent sleepless, frightened nights, ducking shells and shrapnel and machine gun bullets? How many of them parried a bayonet thrust of an enemy? How many of them were wounded or killed in battle?

Out of war nations acquire additional territory, if they are victorious. They just take it. This newly acquired territory promptly is exploited by the few – the selfsame few who wrung dollars out of blood in the war. The general public shoulders the bill.

And what is this bill?

This bill renders a horrible accounting. Newly placed gravestones. Mangled bodies. Shattered minds. Broken hearts and homes. Economic instability. Depression and all its attendant miseries. Back-breaking taxation for generations and generations.

For a great many years, as a soldier, I had a suspicion that war was a racket; not until I retired to civil life did I fully realize it. Now that I see the international war clouds gathering, as they are today, I must face it and speak out.

Again they are choosing sides. France and Russia met and agreed to stand side by side. Italy and Austria hurried to make a similar agreement. Poland and Germany cast sheep's eyes at each other, forgetting for the nonce , their dispute over the Polish Corridor.

16. And this kind of ignorance of facts is what allows repugs to manipulate
...and lie to the public at will.

I'm educating people as fast as I can, but sometimes it seems like a losing battle. Lucky for America I was born with a bit mouth that I'm not afraid to use. :)
