So Where was Barbara Bush today?
I did not see her in any of the coverage of the CSK Funeral. Before it started, I heard she would be there.

4. She didn't attend, but she was quoted as saying
that before CSK died, she was really in a great deal of suffering, and as a person of color she suffered to some extent throughout her entire life, so actually this must be working out quite well for her.

(Note: that was a joke.)

I wonder what she thought of the treatment Jr. received. Would have been fun to see her reaction.

21. if your an aviation pro, I have a question for you--how long does it take
for gyros for avionics to spin up? I was looking for some stuff on scramble times for fighters on 9/11, in particular, how long it would take for fighters that weren't on alert that day to go from a cold start to take off. A pilot's discussion board said the part of the process that takes the longest is for the avionics to spin up--about ten minutes. Does that sound right?

24. Depending on whether the gyros are....
...vacuum driven or electric it usually takes about five minutes. If, on the other hand, they are part of a glass cockpit (as in Electronic Attitude Indicator (EAI) and Electronic Horizontal Situation Indicator (EHSI)) then the CRTs and fans that cool the components take longer. I don't know what Air Force protocols are for F-16s on alert status.

around this and could take off as soon as the engines were fired up.

22. Agree, but what was the official excuse?
I think this is an issue if she couldn't be bothered to attend. Was it a racial thing? We know the influence she had over the President's life. Is her attitude affecting his job performance in race relations.

Is it because Iraqis are brown that he figured it was OK to blow up their country?
Is it her lack of respect for Americans of African ancestry that caused him to ignore the plight of the victims of Katrina? It may have some bearing on why the 9/11 families got a million dollars to send their kids to college and the Katrina families are getting booted out of their temporary housing. Both groups have suffered more than anyone should ever have to suffer. Shouldn't our nation do its best for both groups? An orphan is an orphan regardless of how or why.

You know how thoughtful she is of people of color.

Either that or dropping little animals into a vat of boiling oil.
