My take on Repube whining about how we say goodbye to our leaders |
|
When we lose one of our leaders, we FEEL. We cry. We mourn. When Paul Wellstone died we were devastated. But then when our initial shock wore down, we began to celebrate, we showed our appreciation for what he gave to us and we celebrated his life. It is a genuine expression of love. Conservatives HATE this about us. Remember, they live in a universe of cognitive dissonance. Just as they profess to be religious, while they betray every principle of God. They also profess to know love, but they DO NOT. When they see the expression of genuine love they hate it because they cannot emote the same feelings.
Their complaints after Paul's service, and after Coretta's service have their basis in envy. The whole "politicizing" complaint is just a handy target to channel their hate.
Here's an analogy: In a patriarchal family, one that has been kept under strict rule, when the patriarch dies there is grief that their "leader" has passed, but there is not the type of feeling that elicit a celebration of his life. There is lack of genuine mourning. There is only a feeling of loss. This is what they felt when Raygun died. Remember, conservatives require a blueprint for life from a father figure. Liberals tend to see the world through a prism of the nurturing parent. This is what makes us "bleeding hearts".
So while they have their world view, they still see that we have a capacity for feeling that they cannot access in their own lives. They HATE us for that.
