Completely crazy. Someone has to be the first to begin the deescalation.

I'd be happy to begin the effort.

Freedom of Speech remains in effect.

Let's try to have some sensitivity regarding racial/religious stereotyping or images.

There was a concerted effort to stir this pot...the original page in the Danish paper was in September of last year. These sorts of things go unnoticed all the time.

Someone did do a tour of the hot-spots and spoke out about these cartoons, while adding three other images NOT printed by Jyllands-Posten that caused most of the furor. Those extra cartoons/images were very bad...and just culled from the Internet. Not printed in a Danish paper.

This cooked misunderstanding is at the crux of the troubles.

The persons responsible for spreading this mess right now, whomsoever they may be, are the real problem.

Once people are polarized and angry, it's very hard to reverse the flow of events.

But we must try.
