The Democratic Party has become the Tina Turner of politics
previously posted by me on my buddy's blog thought I'd share it with the DU gang

At last I get to sit down and relax as I have just finished what has easily been one of the most hellish and longest weeks I've endured in a long time.

Screw my problems for now though, at the moment I'd like to expand on a thought I had tonight at dinner.

The talk of the Democrats seems to be that they are spineless cowards too afraid to step up to the bully neo-cons, ect.

Personally I think the problem is that the Republicans are their Ike Turner. No matter how badly Ike would rip on poor ol Tina, she would always come back to him-especially when he had a little trinket made outta diamonds waiting for her.

Democrats real Democrats that is in the past have done many great things to further the progress of this nation, and personally I do not plan to leave or give up the party. The fact of the matter however is, is that the party has far too many individuals that quite frankly are willing to take rounds from Neo-Cons and not only do that not stand up, they actually in turn seem to be complimenting or worse justifying the crooked actions of the neo-con. I can't cite every example I've seen to back up what I am saying, but the mere fact that Democrats treat "Mr President" with any dignity or respect thus upholding the notion that he is our legitimate leader to me is just the same as a wife who gets battered by her husband every night but then says "oh but it's not Christian to get a divorce so even though this sucks I just have to sit here and take it."

Well I was told a story the other day by my step-mother about how this abusive goomba asshole had once tried to choke his wife, but she decided she wasn't going to take his shit anymore. She kicked him in the balls and then grabbed a corkscrew and tried to go to work on his face before her adult children peeled her off of him.

The point of the story is not to encourage that we take politics to the level of Itchy and Scratchy, but that we, that is anyone who is tired of the neo-con agenda step up and demand that our elected Democrats and candidates stop legitimizing what the neo-cons are doing to this country and start speaking the truth, start telling the people that the Iraq war was a success....for Iran. Start telling the people that baby bush laughs at you so called christian suckers while you pray for his continued good health, he joins Kenny Boy in a toast to how Enron got away with fooling Californians into thinking there really was a power shortage in order to gouge the cost electricity-something they are now doing with gas.

But ultimately the problem, as John and Blue and I have all discussed is the general ignorance of the majority of Americans is where the danger truly lies. In a way, they are the true Tina Turners to Ike Bush.

Ike Bush promises them "NO QUEERS TO BE MARRIED ON MY WATCH!" that's all they care about-nevermind that inflation has gone through the roof, nevermind that the Iraq war has done nothing but given strength to the extremists whom we are to understand are the ones responsible for 9-11, it doesn't matter, Ike Bush is a Godly man, and in Jesus' name I PRAY we shall overcome!

In order for this country to progress the people must progress. When people put their faith ahead of their health, their twisted beliefs ahead of humanity, there is little we can do but stand by and get bitchslapped right along with them. These people rely on a strong voice to shape their opinions which is probably why they put so much faith and belief into mythological tales of talking snakes and creating women out of the ribs of man.

Ultimately though, I have seen the progress of ordinary people who have taken a stand who have chosen to stay in there and fight. Quite frankly I had given up after the mis-election of 2004, but I'm ready to rejoin the fight now, and I believe the first step towards regaining our country is starting to reach near its most important point to the beginning of the end of neo-con rule-the people who used to believe in blind faith and overall the neo-con agenda have been starting to feel the impact of their actions-when they pump gas, when they realize bread costs way more than it used to, when the poorest are told their child no longer has medical coverage from the government-you know budget cuts and all, or when like me two weeks ago, you are told you are to be let go as you not economically viable-despite that your corporate master at the top has a $190k car and a golden parachute.

Those are the kind of things that make a person stop and think about the America they thought they know, that's the kind of thing that turns a patriotic and law-abiding person to want to run out and disrupt the system.

It's the kind of thing that has me personally madly wanting to get back into the action on what little free time I have and get people like Jeff Latas elected and Senator Kyl tossed out on his ass so he can become a used car salesman and stick to ripping off the church lady.

We're slowly becoming that woman who had enough of her asshole husband and decided to fight back, but it has to start somewhere and it starts locally, it starts with getting local representitives elected who have the nerve to step up and say what needs to be said and getting that message out.

So with that it's late I'm tired as hell, but the dark ages will not be around for much longer and I think things will start to heat up on the neo-con agenda beginning with the frying of Lay and Skilling-a trial which the outcome will define if we are still a nation that has any justice left in it.

~Peace

if all you're going to do is hand the thread an empty bucket?

try substance or try the ignore button if you can't handle the truth.

3. The main problem...

You cannot explain political problems and their impact on lives to ignorant people. They just do not have the brain capacity to grasp the concepts. I've tried, and have given up. Most people are stupid. :(

One would hope that DU will not go so mainstream as to have to become similar to the very enemy it rails against and despises. We all know that this is a very normal and common factor. The more popular something becomes, the more people involved.

When that happens, the potential that the manipulations of corporately owned mass media, the government psy-ops, and all the cultural and psychological dilutions of cause and purpose for the common folks start to leak in and dissolve, in a purposeful and insidious way, the original intent to rid the populace of the virulent, manipulative memes that are injected into the background noise of today's existence. Those memes are carefully chosen and disseminated. They are both functional and remarkably effective in their effects and outcome, that is, if you have been paying attention at all.

I don't get the impression, as other forums and sites have showed me, that DU'ers, in general are willing or able to take a meta-stance on this equation, just yet. That is, they don't see that the very forces and principalities they are adamantly against and complaining about, are one, (or more realistically, several) steps ahead of them at every step, point, and stage of this dynamic struggle.

That, in a sense, is meant to imply that the very same thickness, stupidity, and blind obedience you deride the Freepers for and use applaud yourselves on for your justification of one-upmanship and superiority, is something you may very well be subject to yourselves, only in a more sophisticated and subtle way. In other words, are you so sure that you are not under a manipulative spell, custom-designed to channel your your aggressions and modify your reactions, without your realization as an issue?

If I were to design a perfect Orwellian system today, it would certainly include the more main-stream bitching posts like DU. After all, who knows who is an Agent and who took a red pill? There are far too many assumptions to exploit, than not.

Oh, but don't let me break your sacred bubbles of contentment and camaraderie with an arrow of dissentful doubt. You have a life to live and a reality to uphold, support, and find release and appeasement in. You need whatever you can find to divert your actions into ideation, responses, and theories that make you feel better.

Yes, if I were going to design the perfect system of control, I would do what is being done to get you to act just the way you are. I would be factoring the left and the right and the in-betweens. I would leave nothing to chance and rely on the natural inclination of people to preserve what they have and make no life-changing sacrifice.

I would, as they have probably already done, take Orwell's 1984 and study it carefully and see how I could use modern technology, corporate media, and the dark side of so-called psychology, to improve upon the original premise made.

And there you have it: 1984 2.0, and you still go along with it tooth and claw! What was it you came here to fight for or do again? Oh, don't worry, Big Brother knows. All factors have been taken into account already. Proceed as usual!

8. It is an option, you know.
Most people take it.

You know that that juicy steak tastes just as good as you chew it. You get to forget that you were just a used body in a pod that provided energy to the machines. Why not?

Why put life and limb on the line to fight the injustices of the program?

Well, maybe, just maybe, the program demands that you, as the One, do so. It needs the balance that you and yours can provide. Why think of it as anything else but a part of the grand design and struggle between the Architect and the Oracle?

Go forward now and act, with the full intensity of your might and being, with that understanding.

This IS it. Make no mistake where you are. You are a valuable and influential player in what is to come. Make good choices and settle for nothing but Truth, not matter how it might contrast with your own, acculturated, manipulated, survival beliefs. This realization is where we really shine and stand above the background noise.

Are you awake, Neo?

Please say YES!

6. you don't know much about tina turner, do you?
she finally told ike to f off and got a divorce even tho ike harrassed her seriously. and she triumphed because she gave up everything but her legal show business name and some copyrights to songs she wrote, and when ike threatened to kill her if she didnt come back to him, she told him to go ahead and shoot her cuz she was through with him forever. Shecame back to claim her
rightful throne as queen of the rock music world.

so in the sense that the dems are like tina turner in that we can triumph, your analogy is correct. but using her
as a loser to the ikes of the world, well...

7. Not only that her legs keep dancing.
She's a great lady, who had to face her abuser, and rise above it.

in her DUI case here in Tucson.

Being 24 years old, no I don't know her entire life story as I was too young to follow it.

But I am aware that she eventually left him.
