Is it Al-Qaida, or Al-Qaeda?

I've seen both, and I don't really know which one is the right way to spell it.

I've always used Al-Qaeda, but I could be wrong.

3. I spell it both ways

I lived in the UK and there they spell it al-Qaida.

4. It's al-CIA-duh! Actually I think it's been

spelled both ways in the papers.

6. Is it Kaddafi, Qaddafi, Gadaffi?

I think I saw at least a half dozen spellings for the leader of Libya back in the 80s. Also, is it the Koran or Quran?

7. If you want the accurate spelling, you will have to

go to the Arabic script, which isn't anything like our alphabet and I think they read it from right to left, but I'm not sure. Maybe I'm confusing it with Hebrew. So any phonetic spelling you want to use in English or other western languages will probably be right.
