Howard Stern Endorses "Brokeback Mountain"
Edited on Wed Feb-08-06 03:22 AM by Hissyspit
"It's one of the best films I ever saw." targetpractice posted this in The DU Lounge and I thought I'd post it here. From Tuesday's Sirius show:

http://malcontent.typepad.com/malcontent/2006/02/queen_of_all_me.html

STERN: "It's an incredibly moving movie... I wish they'd force these assholes from the religious right, these perverts, these taliban mother-fers who want to sit there and tell gay people they can't be married... (to watch the movie) who are so sanctimonious because they aren't gay..."

2. Good for him!
It looks like he's continuing to fight the good fight against the religious right! Brokeback Mountain is a very good movie.

4. It was very good. The original ads for it took the slickest images
from the movie, where everyone is standing around looking like models, and emphasize them out of context. The movie actually has a strong realist aesthetic.

I was not aware that Larry McMurtry wrote the script, so there is a kind of "Lonesome Dove" meets "The Ice Storm" feel to it.

3. Howard Stern is a great (if horny and foul-mouthed) champion of
freedom, in my opinion.
