Dr. King and Coretta were activists
That's the part that the RW assholes are missing. Dr. King was a man of peace, and an activist. So was Mrs. King.

I felt the comments made by Presidents Carter and Clinton were appropriate, as well as the comments about "Weapons of mass destruction". Comments such as these are indeed factual, and reflect the ongoing struggle that was spearheaded by the Dr. and Mrs. King.

The comments were appropriate. Mrs. King will rest easier knowing that there are people who will continue to fight the good fight.

2. They each spoke truth to power
That the comments made at the funeral are even an "issue" just shows me how deeply America has become disconnected from its conscience.

5. Accepting the triuth
Accepting the truth is too hard for many people to do. Just like some people can't go to a funeral because a dead body freaks them out, other people can't process the truth, so they abandon it.

You believe the bullshit, you walk the moral highground, you're happy happy joy joy. Much easier than dealing with the truth.

Dr. and Mrs. King embraced the truth, and armed with the truth, the dedicated their lives to making things better.

Braindead bushbots walking around in a fog, blindly accepting chimpys bullshit, and those who profit from the bullshit disgrace the memory of Dr. and Mrs. King. Those of us who continue to fight the good fight honor their memory.

4.  the appearance ....
of callous disregard for the solemnity of the event is damaging to us all.
I have no quarrel with the statements themselves as they are mostly legitimate. They do appear however to be political opportunism of the worst kind. The kind that hurts the very arguments the speakers were trying to support.

Dr. King said "We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plain of dignity and discipline", some of the less responsible speakers forgot that, and they will get reminded of it for the next several days and deservedly so.

6. No, only the RW media will call them out. Those who knew
or knew of the Kings activism will applaud those who spoke out. If not now, when? They were/are political figures, like it or not. When those who lauded Bush for carrying on Reagan's work, were they shot down as political opportunists? It's the same thing, but different parties, and we all know that the repubs can do no wrong.

7. aren't you doing the same thing.....
that You accuse the right of? Refusing to see when members of your own party behave foolishly in public. Any politically minded person could have seen this criticism coming a mile away, so they either didn't care about the criticism(my way of thinking) or they didn't appreciate the solemnity of the event. But the appearance of political opportunism will stick like velcro, and they should have known that.
