How many Here have children in the military?

This question was asked over in freeperland, and , according to their very few responses, they have a grand total of.......6. How many people here on DU have childeren in the service?

1. My wife and I have no children

But both of us served in the Navy; and both are pretty damned liberal. My two republican brothers in law have sons of military serving age but none of them are serving. Thanks for asking.

2 cousins currently active, 1 son active duty, 1 niece active duty

3. My nephew is in Afghanistan -- second tour in that area

4. My stepson and grandson are in the Army, stateside, so far.

My brother is a former Marine.

6. my son has done 1 tour in afghanistan,2 in Iraq

was injured and is recuperating in Germany.Binka's son was wounded in Iraq.Dogday's son just went to Iraq.There is a military family forum on DU,too.

7. My son is in the Army

So was his dad, his brother, and my daughter-in-law. I was in the Air Force. :)

8. Cousins. My own kids are just small fry :^)

9. My eldest son just returned from South Korea,

he's an Army medic. My nephew just got out of the Marines (bombsquad) without going anywhere overseas. Both are/were low ranking enlisted.

My brother and I are Army veterans.

My nephew is out now but

he spent a year and a half in Iraq. Lucky young man he came out with all his body parts intact.

12. daughter and son-in-law

in the Air Force just go word he is getting a second opportunity to visit Iraq starting next Wed. Their first baby is to be born next month so another bad news event thanks to the incompentents in office.
