Please post the comments you found disrespectful.. The whole quote
I watched almost four hours and only thought the wmd remark could even remotely be directed at bush. Even then it could have been directed at Hillary and all the yes voters in attendance as well.

The other speakers spoke about the work remaining to complete the King family's dream.

So I'm calling out the people that felt the funeral was disrespectful. Please post the exact quote that you found either partisan, disrespectful of the King family memory, or disrespectful of the President.

Thanks for your time.

2. Disrespectful to WHOM?
That's the question here. Standing up for the things Mrs. King stood up for during her life at her funeral certainly wasn't disrespectful to HER or her family.

NOT saying such things just because the Bushes were there would have been far more disrespectful to her.

My opinion on the matter.

13. Yes, that certainly IS offensive
when the person entering after such a remark is Bush or someone like him, anyway.

15. agreed
I thought it was win win for bush to be there... first his presence probably toned down the proceedings covered live on tv and second it gave rove the opportunity to turn any political msg into a phony scandal

16. Think it might be more of the forum....
Call me old fashioned, hyper sensitive or whatever you want, but I feel there are sometimes when a sitting president is required to go to the funeral of an important American. That the important American the service is being held for deserves the presence of the office of the president, regardless of party affiliation.

I did not watch the service, but would have liked to and I'm not going to go looking for anymore particular quotes, but to me, in this instance, I question the particular forum that was used to direct comments toward a sitting president.

And please do not assume I am a Bush fan at all - I cannot stand to watch the smirking asshole for five seconds. But to add contrast, to this day with all of the reading I have done about Rwanda, I am still livid with Clinton's inaction toward Rwanda (hate to keep using this example, but it IS applicable because Clinton's policy toward Rwanda was HIS policy, just as Bush's policy toward Iraq is HIS policy), but if Clinton was still president and was at the funeral of some well regarded human rights person and someone got up and lambasted him for his policy on human rights and inaction toward Rwanda, I would still feel the same way - that there are times and places to make certain comments.

Now go ahead a flame away....

17. So you can't
You just feel it was directed at Bush. You just think is was inappropriate, your gut tells you it was wrong.

But... You can't post a single quote to back up your impressions and even admit you didn't watch.

OK here is an easy one...

Please name a single republican that has gone on the record criticizing the funeral. All I have seen is the gop media saying "some people say" the funeral was disrespectful, but I'd love to be wrong. I would love to see a few pasty white guys stand up on TV and tell the black community they don't mourn properly.

But alas they don't need to they just need to plant the seed in their propaganda machine and people like you (obviously white and middle class) just run with it.

Paste the offensive quote and or link to a prominent repug agreeing with you.

19. When I woke up....
I read some news reports and quotes from Carter and Rev. Lowery. These quotes are obviously directed at Bush. Anyone can read them and draw the same logical conclusion.

Listen, my only point is that everything said is correct and appropriate to have been said, but to me, there are better forums and times for this. If the King family did not want Bush or a Republican president there, they should have said so.

22. Do you know who Rev. Lowery is?
And more importantly his relationship to the King family?

Carter was speaking to the King family's struggle with law enforcement not Bush's nsa scandal. He also talked abut his debt to the King's because had they not struggled he would never have been president.

Carter continued on to note that while the struggle had won hard fought rights and rewards Katrina was evidence that much work was still needed.

Why NO puke is going to go on TV to criticize is obvious. They can't admit these were offensive comments because it would prove they feel so guilty about their roles in the problems adressed that any mention of race and violence issues is automatically an attack against republicans to them.

Instead they let hatemongers do their bidding.

23. Ummm, would it be bush or policies currently in place that were
diametrically opposite to the beliefs of Mrs. King. They are two different things.

just the generic 'republicans' and it was simply a discussion between Candy (I LOVE bush) Crowley and him. I must admit, Crowley was downplaying the repubs position quite a bit. Bet she get's a fax from Karl double plus quick, lol.

18. I have a list
1) I was appalled when Bush Sr said he was a Presbyterian and had "never seen anything like this funeral before" (that bordered on racist IMO)

2) I was offended further when Bush Sr told that Rev not to quit his day job

3) I found it offensive that bushit and laura were seated behind the speakers.
(the funeral wasn't about them it was about the deceased)

4) If that old bag Bush Sr insisted upon being there...he should have forced that fat witch he's married to, to accompany him.

IMO the fact that she didn't trouble herself to go to honor an African American woman spoke volumes and is a national embarrassment(esp in light of her racist Katrina remarks)

20. Kick while waiting for specific examples from the critics
I still have some more popcorn to eat, lol. I do hope those who are criticizing it have, at the very least, watched it. It seems some vocal critics have not yet feel quite comfortable in chastising anyway, interesting.
