Had one thought today about the charge of "making the funeral political":
That's only an accusation coming from someone for whom politics is, in itself, dirty and despicable. Which makes sense. For Rove et al., politics can only ever be a cynical game played for personal gain.
For Coretta Scott King and I would imagine virtually everyone else in that hall, politics is about faith, hope, love, the struggle for justice against oppression. Making the funeral political is, therefore, an expression of love and an act of respect.
Whole flap tells you more about the Republicans than it does about us, really.
