If You Are A Republican...
If you are a republican, it's ok to desecrate, denigrate and make fun of Veterans, Muslims, gays, minorities, Canadians, the French, Europeans, immigrants, Chinese, liberals, Democrats, Generals, former Reagan administration officials, the Press, and any other group who may not agree with you. But it's NOT ok for one a member of one of these groups to speak the truth about republicans, they are pointing fingers, playing politics, un-American or aiding the enemy.

If you are a republican, it's ok to support the troops, just so long as you wrap that purple-heart band-aid around your middle-finger before you wave it at a Soldier or Veteran while you take away their body-armor and benefits for a tax-cut. Now THAT'S supporting the troops in a patriotic fashion!

If you are a republican, it's ok for Bush to order the torture of prisoners who Bush *believes* is a threat to our country. It's ok because when you were threatening the security of our country by insisting on investigations and impeachment trials of President Clinton, Al-Qaeda was busy planning 9/11. Clinton was too busy to perceive you as a threat to our country back then so he didn't have time to defend the nation or order your torture.

If you are a republican, it's ok for Bush to lie about the reasons to go to war. Even though Bush has been caught making up the pre-war intelligence that was used to take us to war, it's ok because the price of oil has sky-rocketed since the Iraq war, as have the stock prices of the companies in the oil and defense industries. You got the memo from the administration on where to invest, right? Besides, there are always new reasons for going to war to make up. You just have to wait for the Drudge Report to give them to you so you can blindly repeat them like a mindless automaton.

If you are a republican, it's ok for Bush to spy on Americans, collect all their financial transactions and private communications (you know, telephone, email, internet usage, digital cable viewing, etc...) in a database that can be easily searched by administration officials. This will allow Bush to keep tabs on all his political enemies and find out the really important dirt they will be able to hold over their heads to control them. It's a really great tool for scaring the public into quiet submission, controlling them with fear. Oh, I almost forgot, it can also be used for catching terrorists too, if any are dumb enough to actually use the telephone or internet to communicate their plans openly with ("Hello, Akmhed? The Cartoon has printed, I repeat, the Cartoon has printed"). But I guess we already had the ability to spy on them with FISA... whoops. At any rate, don't forget to contact your local GOP rep for your special NSA-bypass chip. They just added support for the Motorola Razr, so pick one up today!

5. Very good. I think this goes with that very well --
JOE REPUBLICAN

Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards. With his first swallow of coffee, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to insure their safety and that they work as advertised.

All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer's medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance -- now Joe gets it, too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe's bacon is safe to eat because some girly-man liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry. In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo.

His bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient and its amount in the total contents because some crybaby liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some environmentalist wacko liberal fought for laws to stop industries and government from polluting our air. He walks to the subway station for his government-subsidized ride to work. It saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees because some fancy-pants liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.

Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some lazy liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe's employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't want his employees to call the union. Its noontime and Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some bills.

Joe's deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some godless liberal wanted to protect Joe's money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression. Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and his below-market federal student loan because some elitist liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his lifetime. Joe is home from work. He plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive. His car is among the safest in the world because some America-hating liberal fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. His was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers' Home Administration because bankers didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electricity until-some big-government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and demanded rural electrification.

Joe is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on Social Security and a union pension because some wine-drinking, cheese-eating liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn't have to.

Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn't mention that Joe's beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day. Joe agrees. "After all, I'm a self-made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have."

6. I know many 'Republican' voters who'd disagree with you
I'm surrounded by red-staters who are kind, decent, hard-working CLUELESS Republican voters. They're no different from the same kind, decent, hard-working CLUELESS Democratic voters I know.

What they all have in common, in varying degrees, is a desire to bring our troops home, stop spending trillions on warfare when we could use it on universal health care coverage, do something about the illegal immigration issue, stop global warming, and shut the fuck up about gay marriage and abortion.

Most all of them think social issues are privacy issues, protected by the Constitution, and have nothing to do with government. Most all of them don't believe Bush's "terra" warnings, and many of them - without even knowing of the existence of conspiracy websites - will say "Anymore, I think they made that whole 911 thing up."

Democrats CANNOT woo ANY of these people if they're unwilling to recognize them for what they are: a large, leaderless populist movement.

9. I completely AGREE. But it takes criticism of their party to SHAME them
into realizing what their party leaders are doing. Their party is making THEM look bad.

10. Not Shame. HOPE & DIRECTION
The humiliation doesn't force them in droves over to the "other side." It never has. Giving them HOPE and DIRECTION by speaking to their interests would ease the pain of discovering they've been voting against them.

That's why these voters just wait for the next Repuke Prez. One that will lift them from the shame the Dems try to put on them for voting in the last bastard.

And unless Dems give them hope and direction, by speaking to their interests, that's exactly how McCain will get in office in 08. I've seen this happen over and over.

11. I'm tired of LIBERAL and DEMOCRAT being treated like BAD WORDS
These people have been VERBALLY ABUSING anyone who is not Republican. They've made it uncouth to be a Democrat and we aren't going to succeed by playing Boyscout on a playingfield full of BULLIES. I refuse to sit down and take it.

HOPE AND DIRECTION... yeah, it would be nice if these people understood it, but they don't.

12. But those weren't the kinds of Repubs I was discussing
You're right, the bully win at all costs Republicans will never give up the "evil liberals" fight. They're kooks who haven't figured out they're being used by their own party to keep the whole population preoccupied.

It's the clueless repub voters who can be won over - if only the Dems will speak to their interests.

13. I hear you friend...I'm just completely frustrated at the endless attacks
I realize that one time, both parties had Americans in them, but the republican party has been taken over by hate-filled fascist bullies who think nothing of destroying the character of good Americans. I'm tired of it, and I'm not going to take it anymore. It's time to go on the offensive.
