"Bono, say it isn't so"
Both sides, now.

IRISH rocker-turned-global do-gooder Bono has been keeping busy lately, challenging the president to increase aid to the world's poor and launching his new "Red" campaign to fight HIV and AIDS in Africa. But behind the scenes, the New York Post reports that his firm, Elevation Partners, is in talks to buy Take-Two Interactive, the troubled video-game company responsible for the not-so-globally-conscious game "Grand Theft Auto".

The deal could be worth more than $1 billion, including debt. That's a far cry from when Bono helped work on another debt -- $40 billion owed by the world's poorest countries.

1. Hey I't's another chance to talk about Grand Theft Auto
Violent video games never hurt anybody and anybody who says so is dickweed (Translation - "I enjoy playing violent video games.")

Violent Video Games do hurt people and have a bad effect on society. And your the dickweed (Translation - "I don't play violent video games.")

Yep, nothing elevates the discourse around here like talking about Grand Theft Auto. Except maybe talking about religion.

2. Hey, what's wrong with making a little money?
Money is the life-blood of any economy. Nothing can be done without money because we all believe those green pieces of paper are worth something. They say money is a barren fruit. Bah, people who say that are people who have no money. Who needs 'em! :sarcasm:

4. Bono will do good things with the money he makes
unlike a lot of other wealthy people.

5. Maybe he'll buy the firm
and stop production of the video game! His next project will be the video drama of a globe-trotting Irish rock star who spends his off stage hours as a diplomat of sorts - fighting world hunger and evil doers.

You can give him costumes; wrap around sun glasses, black leather jacket; have him travel with or without aging band.
Pick his friends, are they world leaders or the starving children of Calcutta?
Play the entire game and settle the debate once and for all - is the rock star the front man of a band that used it's best ideas 20 years ago and continues to clog the airwaves with mildly self-derivative product, a businessman with a keen eye for the bottom line, or, an aging hipster who has figured a way to parlay his fame to a broader social change agenda?
