but I was wondering.
Is there anything to gain by saying "the Diebold mid-term fix is in?"
Yes, I realize that it's an issue, but I have to wonder what the hell we're even doing here if we actually believe our voice is that meaningless. I mean, look at what we have stacked against us.
An administration totally disinterested in any other points of view. A media that is almost universally complicit in catapulting their propaganda. Voting machines whose results are, at best, questionable. Protests that are nearly invisible. A Democratic Party that seems weak, fractured, and ineffectual. A general populace that NEVER seems to 'get it.'
Is there a point to all of this, or is it all just mental masturbation to make ourselves feel like we're doing something while our country is stolen out from under us?
We can work our asses off for the reps we believe in, but if Diebold is going to do the counting, what difference does it make?
We can work to get the word out, but if no one is listening, why bother?
We can support those Dems who are actually fighting for us, but if they can't even get face time in the media, what's the point?
Don't worry...I've got an answer to all these questions.
BECAUSE TO SIT BACK AND DO NOTHING IS A BETRAYAL JUST AS TERRIBLE AS ANY THAT THIS ADMINISTRATION, THE MEDIA, THE WEAK-KNEED DEMOCRATIC PARTY, AND THE APATHETIC OR DISILLUSIONED PUBLIC BODY ARE GUILTY OF.
Simply put...we don't really have a choice. We do what we do because we can't do anything else.
Screw Diebold. If it comes down to it, maybe someone will just rise up, storm the gates, and smash those metal motherfuckers into pieces, then take the heat and pay the price for doing it.
Or maybe we'll all just wait for the other shoe to drop.
