Is "politics" the only story coming out of yesterday?

ON EDIT: Thanks so much to all for your information, and perspective. I'm not sure how to respond to this, except to wonder how it is I'm surprised that they could not even let this, this service for a woman who was political even before she met MLK, be. Just let it be. To honor this woman in a public way without talking about race, and poverty, and a disastrous war, people dying, costing billions that could be spent to help people -- to ignore all this would have meant that those who came to the church to honor Mrs. King's life would failed to honor her at all.

And thanks, too, to those of you who are contacting media --

3. They are being themselves on the issue
Their hate, vitriol, ignorance, racism and downright badmanners are showing in all their glory. It pains them deeply when bush is placed before an unscreened audience and is forced to hear the truth.

5. Started first thing this morning.
I turned on CNN this morning and it was all about the "politicizing of the funeral".

The Republicans have hijacked the celebration of Coretta Scott King's life.

7. In 200 years time,
when they are holding a funeral for this dying, flooded husk of a planet will any mention of Politics be appropriate?

8. I'd say it's failing as well
but they're trying to Wellstone it. People were so happy to see the pig * get nailed it's not working though. I think the general public is angier than the GOP realizes, especially when Katrina is mentioned.

9. Absolutely. Conservatives are pissed at him, too. It's not only
the liberals. Patience all around is wearing very thin, and it was nice to see Bush publically spanked.

11. I saw Anderson Cooper last night (don't ask) and he didn't trash it at all
only said nice things like it was a great tribute.
