Homeland Security seizing medications from elderly, former Customs official reports

Are grandma and grandpa now the newest targets in an expanding war on drugs?

An operation allegedly under way in Miami -- supposedly being spearheaded by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) -- seems to indicate that elderly folks are indeed in the dragnet zone.

As part of that operation, CBP, which is part of the Department of Homeland Security, is seizing Canadian shipments of legally prescribed drugs that are being flown into the international mail facility at Miami International Airport, according to Mark Conrad, a retired U.S. Customs supervisory special agent.

Conrad, now an attorney, serves as the associate general counsel for the National Association of Federal Agents. He says the information about the seizure program was brought to his attention by a whistleblower, who does not want to go public out of fear of retaliation.

You know the pressure has been put on their lackeys to stop the re-importation of Drugs. Canadian prices are less than half of American prices for same products, and in some instances as much as a tenth as much.

Once you are frail enough that you cannot work as a cog in the corporate machine, you best have enough $$ to keep you as a prolific consumer for corporate goods or they will make damn sure you do not live.

King George appointed one of his political cronies to head the huge immigration and customs bureau. This is a young woman with no experience in adminstering large organizations and no experience in immigration.

The border patrol has new TV commercials to recruit agents. They show the agents racing around in speed boats, on ATVs and on horseback, although they don't seem to be chasing anyone in particular. Maybe they are all racing to a sale on donuts. Maybe the commercials can be expanded to show the agents confiscating Grandma's heart pills.

a few months ago.....seems that every once in a while, the feds randomly stop a van full of seniors crossing the border for their meds. Seems they don't have the manpower to stop all of them, so they are working to intimidate the Canadian pharmacies instead.
